Job Description    

• RCL FOODS is searching for an experienced Artisan: Turbine Fitter designated to join our Sugar Division based in Pongola. The position requires an individual to Conduct regular inspections of the turbines and associated equipment/machinery to ensure that the work performed meets the required standards to minimize downtime.

Minimum Requirements    

• Trade test Certificate (Mechanical Fitting or Fitting and Turning) and proof of the successful completion of a formal Institutionalised Training Programme is essential.
• Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a trade tested Artisan Fitter/Fitter & Turner
• Previous working experience as an Artisan Fitter Turbines will be an added advantage.
• Experience in maintaining and fault-finding hydraulic systems is crucial.
• Working knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be prepared to work planned and unplanned overtime.
• SAP system knowledge would be an added advantage.
• Be prepared to do stand-by duty.
• To be considered for appointment, the candidate must be a South African citizen.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• The primary objective of this position is for the incumbent to undergo a training and development as a Turbine Fitter.
• Conduct regular inspections of the turbines and associated equipment/machinery to ensure that the work performed meets the required standards to minimize downtime.
• Clean oil filters and strainers on turbines, gearboxes and shredder lubrication systems as required.
• Maintenance of the turbines and other plant equipment in accordance with good engineering Standards and always adhere to ISO Standards and/or Procedures.
• Attend to all breakdowns and/or stoppages in the respective section immediately.
• Investigate any recurring faults and rectify the same.
• Report any accidents, or incidents immediately to the Foreman: Extraction Maintenance.
• Promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
• Maintain and uphold RCL Foods Quality Standards (High Standard of Workmanship).

Job Description    
RCL FOODS is recruiting for a Pest Control Officer to join our Milling division based in Pretoria West. The successful Candidate will be responsible for inspecting the premises and the plant, identifying pest issues and harbourage, applying appropriate treatments to eliminate pests safely and effectively.

Your role will ensure the health and safety of our staff, effective solutions to pest problems, while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

Minimum Requirements    
Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid P-Number
  • Structural pest control
  • Bag and bulk/structural fumigation
  • HACCP
• 3-5 years’ experience as a Pest Control Operator or Technician (in food manufacturing experience beneficial)
• Experience working with phosphine, ULV and thermal fogging.
• Knowledge of pests, their habits, and effective treatment methods.
• Good knowledge of SPI (Stored Product Insects)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to look for and identify root cause of infestation.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Current, up to date P-Number.

Duties & Responsibilities    

Inspection and Assessment:

• Conduct thorough inspections of premises and plant to determine the presence of pests or signs of infestation.
• Identify the type of pest and assess the extent of the problem.
• Identify and asses potential pest entry points.

Treatment Application:

• Decide on and implement treatment options according to each situation, considering the type of pest and the environment.
• Apply pesticides and other treatments in accordance with safety protocols and label instructions.
• Responsible and correct use of rodenticides.

Preventive Measures and Recommendations:

• Identify and implement preventive measures to avoid future infestations.
• Suggest housekeeping and structural improvements to eliminate pest harbourage areas.
• Assist in eliminating and/or reducing pest activity and nesting.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of treatments provided, including chemicals used and quantities applied.
• Assist with expansion of implemented IPM program.
• Prepare trend reports to monitor and compare pest activity levels.
• Prepare reports with regards to client complaints and action taken.
• Prepare and assist with internal and external audits.

Compliance and Safety:

• Follow industry regulations and company policies regarding pesticide use, safety procedures, and environmental protection.
• Maintain licensing and certifications required by state and local authorities.
