    Field Sales

    ROLE PURPOSE

    • The purpose of the role is to grow Diageo share of market in the On Trade by increasing spirits penetration, driving recruitment of consumers into Diageo’s spirits portfolio and building superior customer relationships to ultimately outperform the competition.

    TOP ACCOUNTABILITIES.

    • Territory analysis, planning and execution to drive volume/value growth and achievement of KPIs.
    • Execute formal on trade strategy as per defined standards of excellence in Business Plans and Cycle activity.
    • Collaborate and build superior relationships with the On Trade and Redistributor customers servicing relevant territory.
    • Educate and empower outlet staff to become advocates of Diageo brands through educational marketing platforms and other in-store staff incentive programs.
    • Plan and collaborate with Reserve Ambassadors to win with the Reserve Portfolio in the right outlets and with the right consumers.
    • Execute out of channel opportunities and occasions in line with brand/customer marketing guidelines.
    • 100% adherence to customer calls as per guidelines per outlet, assigned route and frequency.
    • Manage territory budget and adhere to Measurement and Evaluation business principles.
    • Live and adhere to the Diageo compliance agenda and code of business conduct.

    EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

    Qualifications 

    • Driver’s license
    • 3-year diploma/degree will be an added advantage

    Experience 

    • 2-3 years sales experience essential, preferably in the FMCGG/beverage industry

    Asset Care Technician

    About the role: 

    • Work safely within the Operations team                                                         
    • Provide maintenance and continuous improvement skills to deliver and improve on safety, quality, delivery, productivity, cost and asset care.  
    • Effective use of maintenance systems data  
    • Observe and ensure compliance to safe systems of work  
    • Completion of Preventative maintenance activities and pro-active maintenance activities  
    • Deliver and improve performance targets in safety, quality, service, cost and asset care.   
    • Fully understand KPIs and the individuals influence to these. 

    Role Responsibilities: 

    • At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures.  Responsible for Safe Systems of work.   
    • Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices. 
    • Provide Asset Care Technician resources (electrical and/or mechanical) to the Operations team. 
    • Accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.   
    • Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.  
    • Support capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required.  Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.  
    • Make full use of SAP - SAP reporting & recording completion.  
    • Review RCM activity on a weekly basis. 
    • Apply and uses MMS principles tools and techniques, contributing positively to MMS ITFs. 
    • Manage personal data in Workday e.g. P4G and personal details, My Learning Hub, ect.   
    • Attend and contribute to SIC process.  Complete short interval control documentation on activities.   
    • Raise and attend 5 why’s as defined by agreed trigger points.  Work with Operators and team leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift.  Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS. 
    • Participate in line improvement projects. 
    • Engage in start of shift meetings and performance-based team meetings to raise and address persistent performance issues.   
    • Participates in daily, weekly and monthly asset care review meetings.                       
    • Anticipate issues and be more proactive in approach.                       
    • Support TLs & Operators to build asset care and RCPS capability.   
    • Attend all Tier 1 meetings and Tier 2 meetings as required, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required.  
    • Add to the maintenance system by optimising work schedules to add value. 
    • All planned maintenance schedules issued to be completed on time and in full.  
    • Potential to carry out standby activities as and when required. 
    • Carry out audits and inspections on equipment deems to fall under legislative requirements.  
    • Able to run with and manage projects such eg.FI improvements.  
    • Be flexible in working hours as and when required.  

    Excellence in Supply Chain  

    • Attend all Tier 1 and Tier 2 meetings as required, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required on time in full.  
    • Understands and uses MMS principles tools and techniques.  
    • Able to use TRACC principles.

    Experience / skills required: 

    Qualifications  

    • N6 engineering and Equivalent trade test   
    • 5 years' experience as artisan   
    • Minimum of 3 years in an FMCG environment preferably in bottling  

    Experience – Essential  

    • Numerical/verbal reasoning,  
    • Computer literate, MS office and SAP experience  
    • Understanding of Asset Performance and maintenance philosophy with excellent Process Improvement and a solid foundation in process understanding and problem solving (eg root cause analysis)  
    • Multiskilled or willing to become (Mech , elec , process etc)  
    • Ability to work autonomously.   
    • Ability to work in a team and be an effective team member, good communication skills  
    • Has strength of character to challenge poor team behaviours and non-adherence to standards. 
    • Functioned in an environment with FSSC accreditation with clear understanding of how maintenance influences food safety and quality.  
    • Surfaces problems doesn't hide them.  
    • Is an ambassador for Manufacturing Excellence and continuous improvement. 
    • Responds to change in a positive and flexible manner, adaptability.  
    • Have a safe working knowledge and understand the need for maintaining legal compliance. 
    • Sound knowledge of bottling principles e.g., Labeller, Rinser, Filler, and Capping maintenance  

    Experience – Desirable 

    • Knowledge of risk standards (Quality / H&S / Environment) Safety and hygiene compliance procedures

    Market Category Specialist Professional Services & Consulting Africa

    About the Role:

    • Your role will involve supporting strategic procurement by developing category plans using Diageo's methods to enhance procurement value, leading or assisting with sourcing initiatives for specific spend categories, and implementing category strategies in collaboration with global and market specialists. You'll develop expertise in specific spend categories, guiding Analysts in leveraging supply market data for strategy development. Engage dynamically across categories, contributing to flexible resource pools aimed at balancing demand peaks and troughs while accelerating career growth.

    Role Responsibilities:
    General

    • Applied Expertise: Build and share knowledge in one or more spend categories. Understand supply markets, suppliers, stakeholders, and negotiation strategies. Become a subject-matter expert within our global community.
    • Category Excellence: Lead the development of market data, category strategies, and sourcing events using Diageo standards. Contribute to improving tools & techniques.

    Category Strategy

    • Business Partnering: Collaborate closely with category managers to deepen relationships with stakeholders, partners, and suppliers for enhanced insights.
    • Strategy Development: Support evolution of category strategies by capturing business requirements, analyzing market dynamics, assessing opportunities, and proposing solutions.
    • Best-in-Class Capabilities: Develop cost models considering scenarios with suppliers/stakeholders. Enhance analytics capabilities for regular strategy reviews.

    Sourcing

    Risk Management

    • Identify strategic risks during strategy execution; follow-up on mitigations aligned with best practices. Address sourcing risks by engaging stakeholders/partners/suppliers effectively.

    Supplier Relationship Management

    • Establish trust-based relationships with market suppliers ensuring strong performance/risk mitigation/resolution foundations. Drive consistency/improvement across supplier KPIs/data application.

    Excellence in Supply Chain ‘Source’

    • Demonstrated experience working within standard end-to-end processes like Source-to-Pay adhering to core process/standards/KPI-led performance management structures/tiered reporting/review frameworks. Continuously develop through learning curriculums/materials available on Learning Hub/sources relevant to role growth/development opportunities at Diageo!

    Experience / skills required: 

    • We are seeking candidates with a graduate or equivalent qualification who are members of a professional body such as CIPS. You should have a minimum of 4–5 years' experience in Procurement, Finance, FMCG Commercial, or another relevant field, with expertise in supply markets and spend categories pertinent to the role. Demonstrated success in projects and cross-market teams is essential, along with experience in developing and executing category and procurement strategies, and managing supplier negotiations. Strong analytical skills and financial awareness are crucial, including an understanding of AOP requirements and financial goals relevant to the categories in scope. A proven track record of generating insights to influence decision-making is important, alongside good commercial acumen. Proficiency in systems like SAP, PRDM, M/S Office, E-collaborate or similar tools is required. Strong verbal and written communication skills, presentation abilities, and interpersonal skills are also necessary. A history of consistent performance and delivery will be highly valued.
