    Workshop Manager (Frankfort)

    Description

    The purpose of this role is to ensure that agricultural equipment is repaired and maintained, assist and supervise Technicians in their duties

    REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION/TRAINING    

    • Grade 12
    • Qualified Mechanisation Technician

    REQUIRED MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE            

    • 5 years experience as a qualified mechanisation technician of which 3 years must be John Deere experience

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS         

    • Supervise all workshop activities including scheduling and controlling work processing
    • Identify, investigate and resolve all workshop related problems
    • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations 
    • Ensure protective equipment is used as prescribed

    Production Manager (Western Cape)

    Description

    The purpose of this role is to manage the manufacturing processes, equipment and facilities at the Klipheuwel site in the most cost-effective way by ensuring maximum efficiency and optimal mix whilst maintaining compliance with legislation, customer specifications, quality and company standards to achieve planned production (daily, weekly and monthly).

     Minimum Requirements

    • A Diploma/ Degree in Production Management or any other relevant qualification.
    • 7 years operational management experience within the FMCG manufacturing environment of which 5 years must be in a management position.
    • Experience in an Animal Feeds manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of cost management (i.e., processing budget vs expenditure).
    • Knowledge of cost-saving (i.e., deliver against cost-saving and business improvement initiatives).
    • Target driven, knowledge of production processes, best practices and quality systems (e.g., OEE).
    • Knowledge of waste management processes.
    • Solid team management experience, including but not limited to workforce planning, performance management and ensuring discipline on-site.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Oversee production planning on-site.
    • Provide input into the broader strategy from a production perspective.
    • Manage, plan and control the Production Department’s budget.

    Artisan Millwright (Delmas)

    Description

    To perform planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on production machinery and plant.

    Minimum education and training required

    • Grade 12
    • Millwright Trade Certificate

    Minimum experience required

    • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a Millwright in the food industry specifically within animal feeds coupled with strong mechanical and electrical experience. 

    Technical knowledge/competencies

    • Ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematic drawings.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Perform planned maintenance and breakdown repairs on production machinery and plant, including but not limited to machine assessments, maintenance, planning.
    • Liaising with suppliers for the supply of spare parts and services.
    • Read and interpret diagrams and schematic drawing to determine work procedures.
    • Install, align, participate, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
    • Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as an overhead to position machinery and parts during installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
    • Conduct inspections of machinery and equipment to identify irregularities and malfunctions.
    • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
    • Perform adjustments on machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
    • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
    • Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
    • Construct foundations for machinery.
    • Control job card information and conduct checks.
    • Provide maintenance support for projects.
    • Ensure that machines and the working area in and around machines are kept clean.
    • Adherence to Company policy and procedures, Health and Safety regulations, Organisational Safety and PPE requirements.
    • Perform adhoc and any other reasonable instructions given to you by management.
