    Territory Reward Manager AMET - (18015504)

    Role purpose

    • In this position you are responsible for the proactive development and delivery of competitive regional and local Compensation & Benefits programs to support the strategic direction and achievement of business objectives.
    • To drive the development, implementation and communication of country and territory reward strategies and policies aligned with regional and global reward strategies and policies.
    • The role is an integral part of the regional CoE structure and covers specific expertise in the international reward area.
    • Supports the Region Head Reward in the design and implementation of corporate/regional reward programs. Leads regional project streams or is part of global projects in the reward space.
    • Supports the implementation of the operating model on a regional and country basis.

    Accountabilities

    Policies & Processes Governance

    • Design/develop/implement specific compensation, sales incentive and benefits solutions, programs, policies and processes to support current and future business strategy in line with Syngenta's reward philosophy and managed within the organization's financial plan
    • Provide internal consulting support to HR BPs and line management on C&B topics/issues that address business needs, cycle and structure, legal restrictions, financial constraints, socio-political-, EE-representation and economic forces of diverse countries and at same time ensuring coherence to the C&B philosophy/principles/governance and to a holistic and sustainable approach.
    • Roll out global and regional C&B processes & policies within the Country/Territory and supports the required consultation with the relevant social partners if applicable.
    • Ensure that all Country/Regionial C&B processes are consistent with Global/Regional policies and approaches
    • Contribute to influencing C&B content design and global C&B processes by representing business and regional perspective/needs in global initiatives/projects
    • Participate in various global C&B projects such as benchmarking-simplification or job-evaluations and global Work-levels validation, reward service delivery projects etc.
    • Ensure timely execution of Global/Regional annual processes and cascades down key messages within the C&B area. Ensures relevant stakeholder engagement to ensure a successful roll-out of our initiatives.
    • Manage annual Comp-Round activity and other initiatives as salary survey submission, SIP-Annual review and communication.
    • Contributes to the development of our benefits-frameworks in AMET including respective communication.
    • Contributes to the implementation of cost-to-company and flexible benefits in South Africa

    C&B Operations (few major representative tasks, not covering all)

    • Support engagement/communications of HRBPs/LMs in connection with Work-Day go live and gWL communication.
    • Support devl and discussions re salary increase budgets and pay strategy.
    • Continually review and improve country C&B plans in line with global/regional C&B policy
    • Pensions: contribute to projects in AMET led by Global Benefits.
    • Advise and work closely together with C&B Operations (HR Ops)
    • Educate & help improve HR and line management’s understanding of Syngenta C&B programs and how they can be used to incentivise business performance and motivate employees.

    Compliance

    • Follow critical changes in local Labor and Tax legislation and propose changes to local policies/programs
    • Ensure Syngenta operates in line with local Labor legislation and complies with statutory requirements in the C&B area
    • Ensure internal and external compliance (e.g. data protection requirements)

    Operating Model

    • Live the operating model by building strong relationship with BU- and country HR Business Partners and and country HR Ops

    Critical Knowledge/Experience/Capabilities

    Knowledge, experience & capabilities

    • Ideally have between 10 to 15 years solid experience in the design and delivery of C&B programs
    • Good understanding of regional/local legislation and C&B practices
    • Good communication and consultative skills and ability to influence and negotiate typically at senior level is crucial
    • Strong analytical and program management skills.
    • Ability to understand business strategy and plans.
    • Ability to work effectively within a multi-country/matrix environment.
    • Ability to effectively interact with senior management and to respond effectively to sensitive or confidential inquiries

    Critical success factors & key challenges

    • Provide Country HR Managers, HR Business Partners and business leaders with sound C&B solutions and advice
    • Find the right balance between standartization vs. customization based on deep understanding of the business needs
    • Able to work independently and proactively in a dynamic environment.

    Field assistant (18014723)

    ROLE PURPOSE

    • Support Technical Field Scientists (TFS) with all activities related to trials, logistics and stores in respective regions.

    PROJECTS / ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Have a thorough understanding of what is required for each trial, including the protocol
    • Assist with the following in conjunction with the TFS
    • Execution of trial
    • Before departure preparation with weighing of chemicals, loading of equipment and necessary material required
    • Layout and pegging of trials
    • Calibration of sprayers
    • Harvesting of trials
    • Spraying/application of trials
    • Spray pathways
    • Maintenance of sites – e.g. spraying, hoeing, etc.
    • Data collection/evaluation
    • Support with residue sampling, packing and labelling
    • Permanent sites
    • Keep permanent sites well maintained (Cape). Accountability with TFS
    • Chemical store
    • Ensure accurate record keeping of all product
    • Correct weighing of chemicals according to protocols
    • Equipment
    • Maintenance, servicing and cleaning of equipment
    • Ensure equipment is correctly stored
    • General store maintenance
    • Clean store facility
    • Maintain good hygienic standards
    • Adhere to HSE standards
    • Extra responsibilities for Technicians (3A & 3B)
    • Ordering of CO2 gas, syringes, glass/plastic bottles for weighed products, dry ice, residue boxes and maintenance products
    • Sending and receiving of courier parcels

    TRAINING AND SEMINARS

    • Application training will be required
    • On the job training on various aspects related to the job

    Critical Knowledge

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

    • Basic crop, weeds, pests, disease & product knowledge
    • Basic equipment knowledge
    • Basic principles of trials
    • Basic understanding of pest and diseases
    • In possession of valid driver’s license. Preferably Code 10

    Critical Experience

    • 2 to 3 years agricultural experience as Field Assistant or Technician with a chemical company or research institute

    Qualifications

    • Grade 10 – 12
    • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in agriculture from 2019 onwards
