Plastic Injection Process Engineer at Defy Appliances

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain Quality Standards to ensure manufacturing with zero defects
• Responsible for plastic part manufacturing according to specification i.o.t meet requirements of quality, cost & delivery time for the site
• Provide support on new product launch tooling and process
• Identify Lean and Continuous improvement on cycle time times, change over, scrap, quality, material cost reduction to existing processes
• Lead daily continuous improvement activities on the shop floor
• Develop and modify robot programs to handle parts without causing damage
• Define and optimize moulding process window
• Support new tool debugging and validation
• Provide technical support
• Analyse new products i.o.t integrate new components
• Support R&D CAD designer
• Be able to validate 3D mould designs
• Support tooling transfer and SOP

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in (Engineering/Project/Operations)
• 3 to 5 years of relevant working experience in Plastic Injection Process Engineering
• Experience in the White good sector would be advantageous
• Experience in 2D & 3D CAD drawing and modelling
• Injection Moulding experience essential
• Must be willing to travel
• Project Management experience would be an advantage
• Willingness to travel or relocate to Ladysmith
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
