    Basement Assistant - Dolphin Coast/Ballito

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Receiving and dispatching of goods, quality checking deliveries to ensure damage free and that correct paperwork is adhered to. Notifying manager of any problems.
    • Movement of furniture/ Homeware items to and from floor,
    • Ensure all products are loaded and handled correctly minimizing breakages
    • Ensure products are packaged correctly at all times, recycling packaging where possible.
    • Assisting customers load goods, ensuring client inspects and signs for goods and sending POD’s back to inventory department on a weekly basis.
    • Housekeeping/ maintenance of basement and surrounding grounds, ensuring that everything is neat, tidy and rubbish is regularly removed.  Must adhere to security measures (e.g., keep basement doors locked etc).
    • Keeping any trolleys, ladders in good working to be kept in good working order.
    • Assist Merchandiser manage Homeware and collections cages, packing everything neatly.
    • General maintenance work when required either by the merchandiser or the store manager (putting up picture frames/artwork, hanging lights, moving settings, painting etc)
    • Maintain tools and notify supervisor when replenishment of wall plugs, lightbulbs, drill bits, paint etc are required.
    • Assist store staff as required. Assist in other related tasks as requested by supervisor.
    • Ensure compliance to all Health & Safety requirements
    • Ensure product knowledge is up to date

    Technical Skills and Behavioural Competencies:

    • Grade 12
    • Good command of the English language
    • Physically fit
    • Strong computer literacy
    • Good handyman/ electrical skills.
    • Previous background and experience in similar role.
    • Show initiative and have ability to work with limited supervision
    • Be a team player
    • Be motivated and committed to the job at hand
    • Good attendance and good communication skills
    • Willing to go the extra mile to ensure job is completed

    Retail Manager - Dolphin Coast/Ballito

    Main Accountabilities: 

     Financial Management

    • Ensure that the store meets and exceeds turnover and gross profit targets
    • Ensure compliance with discount management KPI
    • Expense management
    • Stock control
    • General administration

     Brand Management 360°

    • Maintain general housekeeping and Visual Merchandising integrity (includes all areas of the premises)
    • Drive exceptional customer service
    • Execution of exceptional business processes
    • Ensure compliance with in-store music, dress code and customer engagement

     People management

    • Management and motivation of all staff
    • Training and development of all staff, including performance management

     Operational management

    • Ensure that processes detailed below are executed efficiently and as per company policy
    • Sales
    • Stock management
    • Point of sale
    • Visual Merchandising
    • Back of house
    • Ensure compliance with company/ internal terms and conditions

    Qualifications: 

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Relevant diploma/ degree 

    Experience and skills: 

    • Minimum of 10 years work experience, with at least 5 years at operational management level
    • Previous experience in consumer-centric environment
    • Proven record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
    • Proven aptitude in analyzing and interpreting sales figures, understanding financial indicators and budget management
    • Comfortable working with different systems and technology, including POS and stock management systems
    • Must be available to work retail hours including weekends and public holidays
    • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle essential
