    nGAP Lecturer Information Systems

    Information Systems

    Minimum requirements:

    • A Master’s degree in either Information Systems, Information Technology or Library and Information Science or related and MUST be ready to pursue a Doctoral qualification within the minimum time permitted
    • Must have a score of 70 % and above for the Masters degree
    • Only South Africans who are 40 years or younger from the designated and underrepresented groups will be considered.
    • Candidate who is a member of a recognized professional body will be given preference

     Additional recommendations:

    • Good organisational and administrative skills
    • Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching
    • Experience in E-learning (Moodle and/or MS Teams)
    • Proficiency in researching, writing and communications skills
    • Be able to lecture in Information Systems and/or Library and Information Science
    • A motivated self-starter, responsible and accountable individual and a team player
    • Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power-Point, internet and email use.

    Summary of duties:

    Lecturer, Auditing & Taxation

    Lecturer

    Minimum requirements:

    •  A Masters' Degree, and an undergraduate study in the field of Accounting, Internal Auditing, Auditing or Taxation with a comprehensive background of Information Technology. However, candidates with a completed Doctorate or are at an advanced stage of completing their Doctorate qualifications will be given preference

    SUMMARY OF DUTIES

    • Make major contributions to the academic quality by providing leadership of all aspects of offerings associated with Auditing and Taxation in the Department
    • Take responsibility for the teaching, learning and assessing of offerings associated with Auditing and Taxation in the Department
    • Lead, develop, design and review all learning content associated with Auditing and Taxation
    • Contribute to the research environment by helping and supporting colleagues with the supervision of post graduate students

    Lecturer, Fine Art & Jewellery Design (Sculpture)

    Minimum requirements for Lecturer:

    • A completed Masters/M. Tech in Fine Art (Visual Arts) or an appropriate associated field. However, a candidate with a Doctorate would be given preference.
    • At least 3 years lecturing experience at an undergraduate level at a tertiary institution. 

    Additional Recommendations:

    • Commitment to undertake studies towards higher qualification (PhD) if not yet enrolled or acquired
    • Research track record (publications and/or exhibitions).
    • Lecturing experience at a University of Technology.
    • Lecturing experience with English Second Language students.

    Minimum Academic requirements:

    • PhD and undergraduate qualification majoring in Public Management/ Local Government/Supply Chain Management in Public Management/ Local Government within Public Management /Public Administration context.  within Public Management /Public Administration context.
    • At least 5 years lecturing experience of teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
    • At least 4 publications in national and or international DHET-accredited journals within the last 4 years.Evidence of publication including articles or book chapters.
    • Proven experience in the delivery of poster, and or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
    • Successful supervision of at least one postgraduate student at Masters level.
    • Proven evidence of leadership in academic and administrative committees within Higher Education.
    • Active participation in professional, industry and or community
    • Strong public management background.
    • All of the above have to be consistent with the University’s Staff Promotions

     ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Public sector or Public Finance related experience.
    • Demonstrate innovative thinking towards teaching and learning
    • Availability to work at other DUT campuses and in the evenings.

    • An NRF rating or potential to obtain an NRF rating.

    Minimum academic requirements:

    • Master’s degree and undergraduate qualification majoring in Public Management/ Local Government within Public Management / Public Administration /Supply Chain Management context.
    • At least 3 years proven experience of teaching Public Management / Local Government Management/ Supply Chain Management within the public sector at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
    • Evidence of teaching and record of research publications in accredited journals.
    • Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
    • Preference will be given to applicants who are registered for a PhD.
    • A proven track record of research with having produced/published a research output in the preceding three years.
    • Active participation in professional, public service and or community activities.
