    Relationship Manager - Bloemfontein

    What will you do?

    • Santam Broker Solutions have an opportunity available for a Relationship Manager who will be based in Bloemfontein.

    WHAT DOES THE RELATIONSHIP MANAGER DO?

    • The relationship manager will be responsible for promoting new and maintaining existing business by serving as a proactive relationship manager for assigned portfolios  Coordinates marketing, sales and support services for assigned accounts to enhance existing relationships and develop new ones. The relationship manager should further insure successful implementation and management of short-term initiatives. This job is focused on the retention and profitable growth of allocated broker portfolios through developing and management of strong relationships with intermediaries and internal business partners. 

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • To develop and coordinate broker relationships at a strategic and operational level, with a focus on efficiency, growth and profitability, in line with broker and Santam objectives. Strategies to achieve this will differ according to segmentation / portfolio
    • To manage a portfolio of business through analysis, interpretation and decision making, while building effective relationships with business partners, both internally and externally
    • To ensure successful implementation of the black intermediary development Initiative and identify, develop, support and grow the number of black brokers
    • Good interpersonal skills are essential for the success of the position

    Qualifications

    • Completed GR12
    • B Comm/Similar or Short-term insurance related qualification or COP certification
    • FAIS credits (commercial and personal lines)
    • RE 5 certification
    • Valid driver’s license
    • At least 5 years personal lines and commercial experience in an operational environment
    • Experience in maintaining and growing a profitable portfolio of commercial and personal insurance
    • Experience in dealing with Binder and Outsource agreements
    • Knowledge of Policy Centre and Mainframe Commercial product  
    • People management experience

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Knowledge of Policy Centre and Mainframe Commercial product 
    • Knowledge and experience of Santam internal processes will be beneficial
    • Knowledge and experience of QlikView, Policy Centre and Mainframe
    • Knowledge and experience of the Santam / Sanlam synergies will be beneficial 
    • Fluent in English and Afrikaans Language 
    • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
    • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis processes and statistics

    Administrative Assistant (JG10) (Bellville)

    • The main purpose of this position is to provide support of an administrative nature to the business. This will range from simple systems and activities to integrated business processes and may include administration, processing, and clerical duties.

    What will make you successful in this role?
    Administrative Support 

    • Devises and maintains office systems, including data management and filing.
    • Follow up on action points from team meetings. 
    • Gathering information and conducting background research, follow-up, preparing of summaries, basic analysis as and when required.
    • Prepare and lodge accounts and expense claims, for payment.
    • Monitor budget spend including the preparation of the budget and handling budget related queries and liaison with accounts team.
    • Manage the diary of designated managers by scheduling appointments and following up on diary requests to ensure appropriate and constructive allocation of time.
    • Timeous and accurate scheduling of meetings ensuring that venues and appropriate facilities i.e. Teleconference, Videoconference, external venues etc. have been arranged. 
    • Drafts minutes of meetings as and when required.
    • Screens phone calls, enquiries and requests.
    • Organise and maintain diaries and schedule appointments. 
    • Stationery management – keeps stationery inventory, orders new stock, and maintain asset register for the full team.

    Travel Co-ordination

    • Co-ordinate travel arrangements for management team.
    • Ensure adherence to Santam group travel and procurement policies.

    Assist with Team Communication Initiatives

    • Responsible for maintaining the team intranet (Sharepoint) site with updated documents, policies, communication, team detail.
    • Follow-up on actions and take responsibility for execution of specific components of it.
    • Distribution of all team communication. 
    • Arrangement of team engagement sessions and functions and standing member of social committee.
    • Maintain team contact list.

    General Administration

    • Maintain access to specific systems on instruction from authorised individuals (e.g. to budget system).
    • Administrative support for new staff appointments which includes arranging access to systems, computer equipment, parking and arrange introductory meetings.
    • Ensure that office area of the team is in order/ neat; ensuring that maintenance is arranged when required.

    Qualification

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Secretarial Diploma would be advantageous
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant in a corporate team and/ or responsible for supporting senior management.
    • Experience in engagement with key business and external partners across all levels (including senior levels) on behalf of the line manager and area.

    Graduate - GIS - Bellville

    What will you do?

    • Santam’s Group Underwriting team, Risk Management and Risk Solutions has 4 Graduate roles available. The role reports to the Tech Specialist: Risk Management and will be based at the Santam Head Office in Bellville.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    • The Graduate will be responsible for geocoding – the conversion of an address to coordinates using a geocoder. This job will appeal to anyone who wants to gain experience in address data cleaning in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within an insurance risk environment. Anyone with a Natural Science degree or diploma, and a desire to work hard and learn, should apply.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

    • Perform the cleaning of address data – enforcing an address format to be applied.
    • Geocoding of cleaned addresses (batch or manual). Training will be provided.
    • Provide regular feedback on progress and deliverables on assigned address data batches.
    • A certain quota of addresses need to be geocoded per week.

    Qualifications

    • Any degree or diploma in Natural Sciences.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint.
    • An understanding of GIS and geocoding (advantageous).
    • Basic proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro will be beneficial.
