    Senior Digital Media Strategist

    How you'll role

    As the Senior Digital Media Strategist you will manage the digital team to exceed revenue and profit objectives by strategising, planning, account/project managing, co-optimising and reporting on the digital media campaigns across a portfolio of clients in order to fulfil the client’s digital media objectives.

    What you'll do

    Strategy Development

    • Client industry research, analysis and recommendations
    • Competitor research, analysis and recommendations
    • Target market research, analysis and recommendations
    • Benchmarking research and definition of findings
    • Channel and platform research, analysis and recommendations
    • Supplier research, analysis and recommendations
    • KPI definition and campaign performance projections
    • Strategy production and presentation
    • Budget (media schedule) definition
    • Liaise and coordinate input from the contributing internal (relevant) team members

    Planning

    • Translate the media strategy into a high-level media plan (in collaboration with the channel-specific Campaign Managers) that includes the following functions:
    • Audience segmentation
    • Channels and platforms definition
    • Targeting definition
    • KPI definition
    • Media production definition
    • Tracking and measurement definition
    • Client owned-platform planning: Tagging, landing positions
    • Integration planning (traditional and digital activity)
    • Reporting definition
    • Timing definition
    • Budget definition
    • Supplier (Channel/Platform/3rd party supplier): Accurate and detailed briefing. Negotiations and proposal sourcing
    • Liaise and coordinate input from the contributing internal (relevant) team members
    • Detailed media planning (Support):
    • Briefing to Campaign Managers
    • Support to Campaign Managers to develop detailed media plan

    Management

    Ensuring account and project management for implementation and ongoing maintenance of campaigns

    • Project manage input from the contributing internal (relevant) team members as relates to:
    • Client setup within management financial and project systems
    • Channels: Project manage campaign implementation (setup and configuration) with 3rd party channel/platform/suppliers against defined campaign parameters
    • Media production
    • Budget: Schedule adjustments and invoicing
    • Manage channel/platform/publisher deliverables as relates to campaign management and optimisation
    • Manage 3rd party supplier deliverables as relates to campaign management and optimisation
    • Project manage and/or implement tracking and measurement:
    • Sizmek campaign tag setups and on-platform tag implementation
    • Social media campaign tag setups and on-platform tag implementation
    • Team members that implement campaign tag setups and on-platform tag implementation
    • 3rd party campaign tag setups and on-platform tag implementation
    • Project manage and/or facilitate client platform setup – purely as relates to media campaign requirements:
    • Landing page production
    • Google Analytics configuration
    • Support campaign managers in testing campaign implementations
    • Setup client reporting document/s
    • Manage campaign finances (in collaboration with Finance Manager):
    • Manage the overall campaign budget (coordinate with financial controller)
    • Ensure invoices are issued on time (coordinate with financial controller)
    • Ensure payments are received on time (coordinate with financial controller)
    • Ensure budgets are not overrun and budget recons are done
    • Account manage client
    • Ensure effective communication between the client and digital team
    • Attend client meetings
    • Create client presentations as part of the pitching process
    • Proactively look for opportunities to upsell additional services
    • Ensure that all client contracts are in place and that all client finances are correct
    • Ensure that all customer details and other information are up-to-date and accurate at all times

    Optimisation

    Optimisation overnight in Display, Social Media and PPC (using 3rd party or innate tools) Channels:

    • Close collaboration with campaign managers (the primary campaign optimisers)
    • Analysis of campaign performance with recommendations for improvement
    • Optimisation decisions to ensure KPI’s are achieved
    • Proactively recommend opportunities/inconsistencies/issues with each campaign
    • Campaign troubleshooting
    • Strategising new campaign opportunities based on analysis, and as relates to the defined campaign parameters (target market, targeting etc.)

    Reporting

    • Campaign reporting
    • Weekly/monthly report compilation – source and aggregate data from the various internal and external channels/platforms/publishers/suppliers
    • Weekly/monthly report interpretation with recommendations for improvement
    • Presentation of reports to management and/or client
    • Budget/time/resource recon
    • Monthly budget recon
    • Monthly resource and time recon against budget
    • Presentation of reports to management and/or client
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating their knowledge so that they are at the forefront of latest (South African and international) trends and developments in the digital media industry. They will be expected to share this knowledge with the team
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating their knowledge so that you are at the forefront of latest (South African and international) best practise as relates to digital media
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for updating their knowledge so that they are entirely up to date (you have a deep theoretical knowledge) with the latest media types/buying models/tactics/tracking related to the 9 (nine) digital media channels
    • The ideal candidate should ensure they are fully capable of utilising the tools and software that the company uses to develop media strategies, execute plans and account/project manage campaigns. This includes updating their knowledge of upgrades to these tools. The ideal candidate will be expected to share this knowledge with the team

    • The candidate is responsible for running basic laptop maintenance activity (Virus checks, scan disk and disk defrags) on a monthly basis in order to ensure optimal operation of the laptop

    • Standards are expected to be adhered to strictly to the defined company standards

    Talent Manager

    How you’ll role

    As the Talent Manager, you will be the custodian of the culture of the organisation and take a lead role in transforming and strengthening the culture, ensuring that the company values and approach are displayed. With this role there is scope to take ownership of the company’s talent strategy and implementation while growing the team. The Talent Manager must also be proficient in employee relations, diversity/equity/inclusion strategies, learning and development, and organisational development and design. Your skills will need to include improving the employee experience, people analytics, designing and implementing best practices to attract and retain top talent, succession planning, reward and employee engagement management whilst ensuring that the human resources programs and initiatives are implemented effectively and efficiently.

    What you’ll do

    Strategic:

    • Design and oversee the execution of the human resources (HR) strategy and core areas of the HR department including recruitment, employee relations, workforce administration, employee engagement, payroll, reward and recognition, and management of the HR budget
    • Advise management on organisational design and oversee the implementation of reorganisations and restructures
    • Build the organisation to become a top employer/employer of choice
    • Ensure managers are sufficiently skilled and enabled to take on the HR responsibilities of their direct reports to manage workforce issues whilst building leadership capability
