    Network Technician

    Job Summary

    • This role involves developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems to ensure reliable and efficient business operations. The Network Technician will apply strong technical skills and an analytical mindset to diagnose issues, improve network performance, and support ongoing network development, with the goal of sustaining a stable, high‑functioning infrastructure.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Design and install well-functioning computer networks, connections, and cabling
    • Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network
    • Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs
    • Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices
    • Evaluate network performance and find ways of improvement
    • Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their own work
    • Do regular data backups to protect the organisation’s information
    • Provide technical direction to co-workers on computer and network usage and offer comprehensive advice and instructions
    • Perform day-to-day monitoring of network tasks as well as managing helpdesk tickets assigned to network team

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12 
    • CompTIA A+
    • CompTIA N+
    • Mikrotik MTCNA
    • Cisco CCNA (advantageous)
    • 2 years' experience in a similar position
    • Previous experience working with Linux (advantageous)
    • Fortinet firewall knowledge (advantageous)
    • Knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies
    • Knowledge of VPN and firewall configurations
    • Good communication skills
    • Outstanding diagnostic, problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Drivers’ License (Code 08)
    • Valid Passport
    • Willing to travel

    Team Leader: IT

    Job Summary

    • This role involves overseeing daily IT operations, acting as the primary technical escalation point, and leading the training and development of junior technicians. The IT Team Lead will balance hands-on technical support with team leadership and mentorship, ensuring high service standards while driving continuous skills development across the IT team.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Lead and supervise all IT staff based in Piet Retief
    • Act as the primary escalation point for technical issues

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications
    • CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals or Associate certifications, Ubiquiti (UBWS or equivalent), ITIL Foundation (advantageous)
    • 2–5 years’ IT support experience
    • Proven experience leading or mentoring junior staff
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi), hardware, and end‑user devices
    • Strong leadership skills with a high level of accountability
    • Ability to train, mentor, and develop junior staff
    • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities
    • Effective communication skills (technical and non‑technical)
    • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and maintain a high attention to detail with a strong focus on service quality

    Financial & Management Accountant: Timber

    Job Summary

    • This role involves producing accurate financial and management reporting for the Timber Marketing division, supporting month-end/year-end close, and providing insights to guide decisions. The role also strengthens general ledger integrity, budgeting and forecasting, and works with operational teams to improve performance and compliance.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Prepare accurate and complete monthly and annual financial statements and management reports in compliance with accounting standards and per deadlines of group
    • Lead/support month-end and year-end close processes including journals, accruals, prepayments, closing entries, adjustments, and balance sheet reconciliations
    • Compile, review and analyse financial data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and meaningful commentary; conduct variance analysis to identify trends and discrepancies
    • Work closely with accounting and cross-functional teams to resolve reporting issues and translate financial data into insights and actionable recommendations for leadership
    • Maintain, reconcile, and audit general ledger accounts and underlying transactions to ensure integrity of accounting data
    • Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable processes and balances, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely processing
    • Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets; develop financial forecasts and projections; contribute to long-range planning and scenario modelling
    • Analyse cost structures, monitor key cost-related performance indicators, identify savings opportunities, and implement/evaluate cost control measures
    • Liaise with tax authorities and auditors as required
    • Design, implement, and test internal controls; ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies; identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
    • Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules, and following up on audit findings
    • Compile comprehensive management reports including financial statements, performance metrics, and variance narratives; maintain and improve reporting templates
    • Ability to work across multiple operations and cross countries, including travel to neighbouring countries, to support business objectives; contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Matric / Grade 12
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Accounting, or related field
    • CA(SA), CIMA, or similar professional certification (advantageous)
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in management and financial accounting (corporate or multi-entity environment advantageous)
    • Extensive knowledge of management accounting principles and practices
    • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting standards, statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance (cross-country advantage)
    • Proficient in SAP, Oracle, AS400 (or other accounting systems) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Power BI knowledge (advantageous)
    • Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving and attention to detail; high organisational skills and adherence to deadlines
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills; ability to influence across teams
    • Strategic, adaptable and proactive; comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment
    • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (including neighbouring countries)
    • Based in Piet Retief
    • Bilingual in English and Afrikaans (advantageous)
