Town Planner at Knysna Municipality

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: 

• B Degree/ National Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning 
• 2 - 5 years’ relevant experience in a Town Planning environment 
• 1 year work experience in a town planning environment in a Municipal environment will be an added advantage 
• Own vehicle and valid Code B driver’s license 
• Proof of registration or working towards registering as a Professional Planner with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) 
• Thorough knowledge of relevant legislation 
• Computer literate and in Microsoft Office package 
• Be prepared to work overtime and attend meetings after normal office hours when required 
• Proficiency in English and at least one other official language of the Western Cape 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

• Processing and making recommendations on Land Use Applications 
• Enforcement of Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Legislation 
• Supervision of Staff 
• Accurate communication and dissemination of functional and operational information on spatial planning matters 
• Report writing
