    Project Manager (Argility) - JHB North

    • We seek a passionate and organised Project manager to join our Data Science Team at Argility. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing custom projects delivered by a cross-functional team comprising of Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Projects, Operations, Data Visualisation and Data Integration.
    • Their primary function is to ensure delivery as per required specifications, deadlines, and budget i.e. with an expectation to source, review and validate budget assumptions, on new client projects and internal business projects. They will manage, maintain, and update best practices, processes and documentation driving the DataOrbis Project Office.
    • They are highly knowledgeable and technically proficient team members. They possess a wide variety of skills and knowledge to manage complex and varied tasks, and they act in a supervisory capacity coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day work and assignments of a group of team members.
    • They are responsible for planning, executing and supervising team members' tasks and assignments, reviewing progress and evaluating results to ensure that the team meets its deadlines and deliverables.
    • The Project Manager will be required to work closely with the Growth, Commercial and Custom Teams in DataOrbis and the Smollan Data Office. They will work collaboratively with the Operations Director, Commercial Director, Chief Growth Officer and Heads of Commercial. They will work under senior supervision and are involved in recruiting, training, and developing team members.
    • As a key decision maker within the business, the Project Manager will be required to utilize a broad set of skills (project management, technical, HR and general management) to ensure that their team is well managed to deliver a superior service to the Growth and Commercial functions within the business.
    • In addition, they will be required to provide strategic input regarding project requirements and implications to the Support function within the business. They will be responsible for the implementation, training and adoption of new tools, processes or improvements to the Project Office and business.

    Requirements

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Professional/tertiary: Suitable Tertiary Degree/Diploma or Relevant Certification in a Project Management, Commerce, or IT-related field.
    • Experience: 5 years plus relevant experience within a technology project delivery and/or data-centric and/or Cloud technology environment with 2 years of supervisory or team management experience.

    Knowledge

    • Highly proficient in the use of Excel, Microsoft Office and other DataOrbis software and systems (Lattice, SharePoint, MS Teams, JIRA).
    • Highly proficient in the use of JIRA and PortfolioProficient in the use of the Argility platform.
    • Proficient in the use of Tableau Online.
    • Knowledge and understanding of data warehousing principles, SQL and the Argility reporting tools.
    • Foundational understanding of GCP or other similar cloud technologies.
    • Understanding of the retail technology industry is advantageous.

    Financial Accountant (6 Month Contract) - Countrywide

    Responsibilities

    • Ensuring the financial accounts are managed in accordance with IFRS
    • Reviewing the processing of the financial administrators
    • Maintaining the asset register
    • Processing of intercompany transactions including month end journals, payroll reconciliations and accruals
    • Managing cash books and reviewing bank reconciliations
    • Assistance in managing the bank accounts
    • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
    • Liaising with SARS on taxation submissions and queries
    • VAT Calculations, filing and submission
    • Audit preparation and management
    • Working capital management including managing debtors and vendors with the relevant finance clerks
    • Managing the debtors and creditors team members
    • Assistance with the management of financial administration for DataOrbis
    • Carrying out of other ad-hoc requests as required
    • Ensuring month-end actuals processing deadlines are met and liaising with the relevant Smollan group stakeholders
    • Finance team guidance and assistance

    Requirements

    Your skills and experience include 

    • BCom or BBusSci post-graduate diploma/Honors in Accounting is essential. A professional qualification CA(SA)/CIMA/ACCA is preferrable.
    • Minimum 3 – 4 years’ working experience within a financial role or a minimum of 3 years articles plus 1 year post articles experience.
    • Advanced skills in MS Excel and proficiency in NetSuite/SAGE/MS Dynamics 365 ERPs would be a distinct advantage.
