    Planner Engineering - Musina

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Effective planning of specific project equipment to achieve productivity as per project scope.
    • Effective scheduling and monitoring of specific project equipment, manage backlog and labor limitations / constraints.
    • Determine skills, materials and resource requirements timeously and allocate to tasks following consultation with supervisor.
    • Develop and maintain the site maintenance schedules, analyze data from the computerized management maintenance systems and identify trends and areas of improvement.
    • Initiate procurement of spares and consumables to ensure availability.
    • Liaise with the maintenance systems manager to on-board new machinery and provide site performance information.
    • Identify and flag relevant legal requirements.
    • Create job cards, with job safety analysis, in advance to ensure timeous availability of materials, skills and resources.
    • Prompt identification of recurring defects and inefficiencies, flag, analyze and assist with close-out thereof.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams, suppliers / OEM to obtain information that informs planning.
    • Provide feedback and input to the site engineering team and procurement department at weekly planning meetings.
    • Comply with legal regulations, M&RC and Client’s standards, policies, procedures and safety protocols.

    Minimum requirements

    • Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
    • Grade 12 or NQF 4 Equivalent
    • Section 26 Recognized or Equivalent Mechanical/Electrical Trade Certificate (Fitter/Diesel Mechanic/Millwright or Electrical) or National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
    • Proficient in computerized maintenance systems
    • Proficient in MS Office [Excel, Word, MS Projects]
    • Supervisory Development Program [preferred]

    Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

    • At least 8 years of experience in an engineering planning role of which 5 years as an Engineering Planner.
    • Experience in an underground section particularly in trackless mining environment

    O&M Technician or Electrician - Bedfordview

    Key Responsibility:

    • Conduct investigations to identify the root causes of issues in PV plants and equipment for effective problem-solving.
    • Implement strategies for preventative maintenance to improve the reliability and lifespan of solar installations.
    • Efficiently switch between on-site inspections and remote monitoring to find faults in PV plants.
    • Perform on-site repairs and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.
    • Apply knowledge of Quality Systems to uphold high standards in O&M activities.
    • Follow Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, fostering lasting relationships through clear communication.
    • Apply basic financial accounting principles for client invoicing and quotation preparation.
    • Utilize Microsoft, particularly Excel, for data analysis and exporting.
    • Demonstrate determination and effectiveness under continuous pressure.
    • Maintain a proactive mindset, identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
    • Apply independent judgment for informed decision-making in problem-solving scenarios.
    • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail in root cause analysis, maintenance, and reporting.
    • Issue electrical certificates of compliance (COC) and use test equipment such as IV curve tester, Insulation tester (Megger), Multi-meter.

    • Respond to reported faults within 24 hours.
    • Minimize system downtime to less than 5% through efficient on-site repair.
    • Achieve a preventative maintenance completion rate of 95% or higher.
    • Respond to remote monitoring alerts within one hour.
    • Maintain a client satisfaction rate of 90% or higher.
    • Ensure an accuracy rate of 95% or higher in root cause analyses.
    • Conduct day-to-day activities in a safe manner in order to contribute to the Company’s requirement of zero harm and Stop.Think. Act.24/7

    Minimum requirements

    Qualification:

    • Minimum of N3 in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Trade Test section 13 or 26D with 3-phase Wireman’s License.
    • Electrical Engineering Diploma will be an advantage.

    Work Experience:

    • At least 2 years' experience in renewable energy (solar) and/or electrical maintenance.
    • Knowledge and experience with AC and DC work will be beneficial.
    • Experience with online PV plant monitoring systems will be beneficial.
    • Experience in the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants will be beneficial.
    • Professional communicator comfortable interacting with clients.
    • Experience in project management and O&M of solar systems will be an advantage.
    • Preference will be given to South African Citizens, Clear Criminal Record, Valid Driver’s License.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • At least 5 years' "on-the-tools" experience in troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining underground mobile earth moving equipment, preferably underground trackless mining equipment
    •  At least 2 years of the 5 years in a senior artisan/chargehand position "on-the-tools" supervisory position in a highly productive Construction underground Section.
    • At least 5 years as an appointed Foreman supervising Artisans and technicians maintaining and repairing mobile equipment in a highly productive Construction underground Section.
    • At least 2 years of on the job experience responsible for job planning, costing and quality paperwork records in  a highly productive TMM Construction Section.

    • Grade 12 or equivalent academic/technical qualification

    Solar PV Design Engineer - MRPIW

    Job description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

    • Size PV strings, tables, arrays, inverters, chargers, fuses and combiner boxes and battery energy storage systems.
    • Develop PV layouts for rooftop and ground mount installations.
    • Size solar cables and other integration cables.
    • Size earth cables and design earth grids.
    • Draft methodologies and method statements.
    • Apply applicable international and national standards to designs and procedures.
    • Conduct simulations using tools such as PVsyst, PVsol, Homer and other design software for PV systems.
    • Calculate fault levels and protection design.
    • Simulate power flows and voltage drops using Software such as Etap, Easy Power.
