    Automotive Machinist Global Grade 08

    Key Responsibilities

    • Engine Component Reconditioning: Rebuild, repair, and renew engine components like cylinder heads, engine blocks, and crankshafts.
    • Machinery Operation: Set up and operate precision tools including grinders, boring machines, and lathes to machine parts to exact specifications.
    • Inspection & Diagnosis: Dismantle, clean, and thoroughly inspect engine parts for cracks, wear, and other faults.
    • Precision Measurement: Use micrometres, callipers, and other precision tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
    • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturer specifications to plan machining operations.
    • Maintenance & Safety: Perform routine maintenance on shop machinery and adhere to strict safety protocols.

    Position outputs

    • Expert technical support, investigations and reporting on resolutions of product issues in collaboration with Service.

    Product Support and Solutions Manager Global Grade 13

    Position outputs

    • Develop, drive and grow regional aftermarket CVA, Parts, Service and digital solutions across the BWP Southern Africa territory by marketing and managing Aftermarket solutions teams , through the provision of support to regional PSSR and ISR sales individuals / teams.
    • This is a group function and stretches across the Caterpillar Energy and Transportation Product lines, including Marine, Electric power and Industrial products.

    Key Outputs

    • Lead, manage and grow the national Energy & Transportation (E&T) rental sales function in line with annual revenue and profitability targets.
