KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accurate and timely processing of transaction on Pastel (Financial leases, Loans and other)
• Weekly cashflow management and payments preparation
• Ensure that correct procedures are followed for statutory reporting, completions of documents, submission and timeous payments, i.e., VAT, EMP201
• Calculate and evaluate monthly bill of material and monitor stock control procedures
• Monthly invoicing to producers, reconciliation and Accounts Receivable management
• Bi-Weekly Pay-out of advances, final, local and Woolworth’s payments received on behalf of producers
• Compile and trace data throughout a packhouse system
• Build reports and/or data extracts to support business analysis
• Ensure packhouse data reconcile to trail balance (producer accounts / inventory / wholesale)
• Forecast and analyse producer income
• Oversee Account Payable, ensure correct allocation and manage finance clerk
• Monthly budget vs actual reporting
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and annual external audit

COMPLIANCE

• SIZA (Social and Environmental)
• A.P.
• Health & Safety
• Co-ordination of internal/external training
• PPECB, DAFF orchard inspections
• Environmental and Social Governance
• Co-ordination of all audits (SIZA, GlobalG.A.P. etc.) 

TECHNICAL

Irrigation & Chemical applications

• Automation of irrigation systems
• Chemical applications & spray instructions
• Fertilizer applications

Crop manipulation

• Pruning
• Girdling
• Foliar feeds
• Gibb applications

Trial studies

• Testing and analysis of new products
• Data capturing
• Monthly analysis & reporting

Farm maintenance

• Calibration of spray machines
• General knowledge of maintenance of farm vehicles and equipment
• Calibration and use of GPS precision spreading

PRODUCTION

• Work in conjunction with Managers and supervisors to ensure the following:
• Co-ordination of picking teams
• General supervision of farm employees
• Ensure effective communication, co-ordination, and planning during picking season
• Motivate and improve productivity of employees

• Introduce new products, promote improved distribution and ensure promotional results.
• Stay current on business/market conditions, intensively plan sales, recognise new opportunities within each account and maintain the necessary territory records.
• Provide educational training to clients and associations through seminars and trade events. Build and develop the trust and confidence of the farmer through knowledge of products, persuasive presentations, and overcoming objections. 
• The preparation of sales and other admin reports in respect of the activities and the circulation of such reports to the management of the company.
• Assisting with the management of stock, including maintaining records and reports in respect of existing inventory and forecasting and ordering supplies required to conduct the company’s business in the specific area.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Preference given to qualifications in either Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety and Compliance
• Proven 3+ Years experience as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
