    Lecturer: School Of IT - Cape Town

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Lecturing

    • Lecture on programmes (must lecture on an IIE qualification) across various modes of delivery where relevant.
    • Marking of assessments and feedback to students in subjects lectured. May be required to internally moderate assessments scripts that fall within their subject fields, where necessary across IIE sites of delivery.

    Lecturer Development and Support

    • Assist in lecturer development and support processes and procedures. This may include conducting peer reviews, facilitating workshops and one-on-one consultations.

    Student Development & Support

    • Championing/leading and managing academic development and support for a specific programme and its students.
    • Tracking student success and implementing support interventions where required. 

    Research & Scholarship

    • The incumbent is required to promote a culture of scholarship within their practice, discipline and campus/team and is also required to contribute towards IIE MSA achieving its annual research output targets.

    Competencies required:

    • Superior communication (written and verbal) and organisational skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage work and self proactively.
    • Able to demonstrate a proven track record of effective teaching in subject area based on a reflective practice.

    Attorney - Cape Town Campus

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for networking and presentations at seminars and conferences.
    • To coordinate, teach & supervise the training of Candidate legal practition.
    • Responsible for the day-to-day running of the Law Clinic.
    • Oversee roll-out of community advice desks and associated legal education outreach training.
    • To Coordinate, teach & supervise the training of Candidate Legal Practitioners & LLB students on the experiential Law module XBLAW8419.
    • Engage in advocacy efforts related to community legal issues and promote legal education and awareness within the community.
    • To assist in the broadening of the IIE VC CLC Pretoria regional footprint.
    • Overseeing staff development and performance reviews within the Clinic.
    • High-impact litigation at the level of High Court (as the Clinic grows).
    • Assist in the development and implementation of the clinic's overall strategic plan, in alignment with the organisation’s mission and goals.
    • Responsible for the supervision of the candidate legal practitioners.
    • Ensure the provision of high-quality legal services to clients, including conducting intakes, assessments, and referrals.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community organisations, stakeholders, and partners to enhance the clinic's outreach and impact.
    • Assist in securing funding through grants, donations, and other sources to sustain and expand clinic operations.
    • Ensure the CLC’s compliance and registration with the LPC (Legal Practice Council) and SAULCA (South African University Law Clinics Association).
    • Prepare regular reports for funders, stakeholders, the IIE VC School of Law and Faculty of Law.
    • Implement the CLC’s budget, including financial planning, monitoring, and fiscal responsibility.
    • Represent the CLC in the Gauteng/Tswane region in public forums, media, and professional associations to enhance its reputation and influence.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and clinic operation.

    Legal Drafting

    • Manage all matters from time of consultation until such time as matter is litigated and resolved or referred to an Attorney or Advocate  within the required standards of the profession
    • Legal advice and guidance to clients.
    • Drafting of pleadings and correspondences.
    • Negotiating and drafting of various agreements and corporate documents
    • Researching law and drafting legal opinions
    • Maintaining the confidentiality of legal documents and client records
    • Undertaking due diligence investigations

    Legal Advice

    • Undertaking the legal work to the highest professional and client care standards
    • Preparing cases for trial or alternate dispute resolution
    • Interpreting laws, rules, and regulations
    • Analysing probable outcomes based on legal precedents

     Minimum Qualification Requirements:

    • Bachelor of Laws Degree (LLB) Preference will be given to candidates studying towards a LLM.

    Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

    • 3-5 years post-article litigation experience.
    • Admission as a Legal Practitioner of the High Court of South Africa
    • Ability to take on Candidate Legal Practitioners as a Principal.

    Head: Student Experience - VEGA School (Cape Town)

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Design, Implement and Monitor Student Touchpoints

    • Manages the campus student experience annual calendar of events and student operational support interventions
    • Continually reviews student experience processes and procedures are in place to ensure that outputs are high quality and effective
    • Consolidates and supports the delivery of the multidepartment plans and ensures synergy and cohesion across departments
    • Implements relevant policies that impact on the student experience
    • In collaboration with the National Portfolio team supports national events and initiatives to be implemented throughout the calendar year
    • Plans and oversees the new student Orientation program from a student operations perspective
    • In collaboration with the SMT oversight of campus communication strategy to students regarding student operational and student experience matters
    • Continuously gathers and reviews student platforms and entry points of feedback to proactively align the campus student experience activities and interventions

    Holistic Student Support and Experience

    • Leverages the Vega Voice and Student Committees as a tool to collect and disseminate information and feedback
    • Supports and point of escalation to addresses student queries and connects the student to the correct member of staff to resolve queries
    • Drives intentional, collaborative, connected and responsive student intervention strategies to deliver student experiences that promote learning and development beyond the classroom
    • Develops, manages and runs student mentorship and leadership workshop and programs
    • Assist departments deal with general and complex student enquiries with the objective of identifying and remedying issues
    • Ensures multidepartment synergy and cohesion to ensure seamless student experience
    • Drives visibility, inclusion and awareness around each departments function relating to the student experience
    • Maintain and drive a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward our students

    Oversight of Corporate Social Investment (CSI)

    • Oversees the annual Corporate Social Investment (CSI) implementation plan and monitors the impact of this plan
    • In collaboration with the Student Wellness Manager facilitates and grows relationships with identified CSI beneficiaries
    • Monitors the CSI budget and reports on successful outcomes
    • Supports the rollout of requirements of CSI projects in conjunction with other departments

    • Monitors compliance to specific departmental policies and procedures
    • Oversees and manages fulfilment of Services Level Agreements (SLA's) across the various departments and external stakeholders

    Student Discipline Management

    • Deals with student discipline issues that may arise on campus such as ones that contravene the student code of conduct
    • Addresses student disciplinary issues in consultation with the Campus Head
    • Where appropriate ensures that student disciplinary measures are corrective in nature
    • In collaboration with the Academic Operations and Academic teams ensures that student disciplinary outcomes are contextualized so that outcomes are finalised appropriately
    • Creates awareness around the Safe Campus Policy.

    Quality Sales Management (Undergraduate and Postgraduate)

    • Training of new sales staff on presentation and interview script, product knowledge, STASY and all sales processes to ensure they are ready for national sign-off.
    • Training and development of Sales Team in order to prevent staff from unnecessarily progressing through Sales Tracking.
    • Fostering Team relations and building trust with team.
    • More effective communicating to achieve better motivation within Sales Team.

    Minimum Education Requirements:

    • In order to supervise on this module, the lecturer needs to have a minimum of a Masters (NQF level 9) qualification in Psychology and experience supervising student research in the discipline of Psychology. At a minimum a Research Methodology module should have been successfully completed at NQF 8.

    or

    • If the candidate does not have supervision experience, candidates with a NQF 9 Psychology qualification that includes an academic research component may supervise, but will be limited to no more than 5 honours students and will be overseen by an experienced supervisor, until such time as those 5 students have successfully completed the research process.

    Minimum Experience Requirements:

    • In order to independently supervise on this module, the lecturer needs to have successfully supervised at least 5 honours students to completion.
