    Senior Credit Risk Analyst - Cape Town

    Minimum Requirements

    What you must have:

    • Master's or Honors degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Credit Risk Analyst or similar role
    • Strong experience developing predictive models forecasting probability of default
    • Experience and knowledge of provisioning approaches and calculation
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R  & SAS

    Duties and Responsibilities

    What you will be doing:

    • Analyse data sets to identify factors correlated with credit risk outcomes..
    • Develop credit risk models that forecast the likelihood of consumer default.
    • Assist operations to achieve better credit risk outcomes by integrating models and data
    • driven approaches into operational processes.
    • Determine risk-based product pricing to achieve profitability hurdles.
    • Work with the finance team and other stakeholders to build insights in customer
    • profitability segments.
    • Ensure that provisioning models are updated to sufficiently cover changing credit risk.
    • Analyze complex data sets using SQL and other tools to extract insights and identify trends.
    • Developing junior credit risk and data analysts.

    Team Leader - Stellenbosch

    Minimum Requirements

    • Grade 12;
    • 2-3 years’ experience as a Team Leader;
    • Strong leadership skills;
    • Exceptional organizational, and time management skills;
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
    • Engage in the innovation and improvement of processes;
    • Ensure the departments achieves goals established;
    • Identify ways to support inclusion and diversity;

    Duties and Responsibilities

    People Management:

    • Lead and supervise teams focused on targets;
    • Ensure team meets and exceeds their daily goals;
    • Monitor calls and complete spot audits; 
    • Conduct weekly and monthly performance reviews and formulate action plans to improve performance;
    • Responsible for creating and providing functional and operational reports to operations management that provides essential information to manage the business;
    • Work with your HOD and operations management team to drive continuous improvement;
    • Provide process improvement guidance / changes for review by leadership;
    • Create and maintain a high-quality work environment, so that the team members are motivated to perform at their highest level;
    • Lead by example and coach on key behaviors to drive results;
    • Manage team size and availability;
    • Responsible for escalating HR and ER matters to your HOD and senior management.

    Sales:

    • Supervise team that evaluates credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits;
    • Manage team that responds to customer service calls and emails;
    • Handle escalated customer complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them;
    • Know our products inside and out so you can answer questions and coach your team;
    • Communicate with customers, agents and other stakeholders through various channels.

    Collections & Recoveriers:

    • Recover payments on overdue accounts;
    • Locate customers using external and internal sources;
    • Negotiate payment plans;
    • Handle questions and complaints.
