    Principal, Ventilation

    Role Purpose:

    • The Mine Ventilation Engineer provides expert technical support for ventilation, air quality, and cooling across AngloGold Ashanti’s global portfolio. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant mine ventilation systems while supporting operations, projects, and joint ventures.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technical Leadership

    • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in mine ventilation and cooling, providing guidance and solutions across all operations and projects.
    • Develop and implement optimal ventilation and refrigeration strategies for underground operations.
    • Provide technical input for studies, project stage-gate reviews, and ventilation upgrade initiatives.
    • Support business units in ventilation-related opportunities, coaching engineers, and guiding project development.
    • Offer SME support for ventilation and air quality incidents and contractual matters.
    • Ensure ventilation work practices meet statutory compliance and technical excellence standards.
    • Contribute to decarbonization projects and new mining technologies as needed.
    • Maintain and monitor policies, guidelines, and standards, ensuring compliance across sites.

    People & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Mentor and develop ventilation personnel as part of the discipline health program.
    • Promote a safety-first culture and model behaviors aligned with AGA values.

    Technical Knowledge & Skills

    • Safety: Lead risk assessments, identify hazards, and develop mitigation strategies.
    • Mine Ventilation: Expert knowledge of ventilation, air quality, and cooling systems across mining methods. Able to implement best practices, lead field trials, and optimize performance using data.
    • Operational Management: Understands business planning and cost management; able to manage small teams effectively.
    • Ventilation Planning: Mastery in designing and optimizing primary and secondary ventilation systems; experience in cost modeling and scheduling integration.
    • Contract & Project Management: Experience with contract management, minor project leadership, and collaboration with consultants.
    • Innovation: Able to generate creative solutions, embrace new ideas, and collaborate across disciplines.

    • Degree in a mining-related discipline
    • 10+ years of relevant mining industry experience
    • Advanced Ventsim skills; experience with Deswik or other CAD packages

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial decision-making skills
    • Track record of delivering ventilation solutions aligned with strategic and operational plans

    Supervisor, Contracts Administration

    ABOUT THE ROLE 

    • AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is seeking a dynamic Supervisor: Contracts Administration to support the end-to-end procure-to-pay process — ensuring that supplier relationships, contracts, and procurement operations align with our business objectives and compliance standards.

    WORK ACCOUNTABILITIES 

    Lead the Contracts Administration Function:

    • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the contracts administration team to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, accurate, and timely contract management services. Track team performance against KPIs and implement corrective measures where necessary.

    Drive Operational Excellence:

    • Contribute to the organisation’s continuous improvement goals by streamlining procurement and contract administration processes, promoting discipline, and ensuring full alignment with AngloGold Ashanti’s Mission, Vision, and Values.

    Supplier and Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Support negotiations to secure optimal value and ensure suppliers consistently meet agreed performance, quality, and delivery standards.

    Tendering and Procurement Support:

    • Prepare and issue tenders, Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and Requests for Proposal (RFPs) in line with procurement strategy. Support bid evaluation processes, ensuring transparency, fairness, and compliance with internal governance and SOX requirements.

    Contract Development and Maintenance:

    • Draft, review, and manage contracts and purchase orders to ensure accuracy, legal compliance, and accessibility. Ensure all contracts are properly documented, approved, and electronically maintained for audit readiness.

    SAP and Data Integrity Management:

    • Maintain and update Outline Agreements, purchase orders, and contract records in SAP. Ensure contract spend is accurately captured and reported, and that all stakeholders follow approved system processes.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Develop supplier scorecards and track performance against service level agreements (SLAs).
    • Produce monthly savings and performance reports to demonstrate value delivery and identify opportunities for cost and efficiency improvements.

    Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Monitor compliance with corporate policies, procurement procedures, and relevant legal frameworks. Identify and escalate potential risks related to contract performance, supplier behaviour, or non-compliance.

    Team Leadership and Development:

    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to team members. Encourage a culture of safety, accountability, and professional growth within the contracts administration team.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with finance, operations, supply chain, and regional teams to align procurement and contracting practices with business needs. Participate in strategic planning discussions to enhance contract efficiency and value creation.

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    Education & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field (CIPS qualification advantageous).

    Technical Knowledge, Skills & Experience  

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial/contracts administration role.
    • Advanced proficiency in SAP, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and sourcing analytics.
    • Advanced application in Sourcing Processes and Spend Analytics.
    • Proven skills in stakeholder management, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
    • Experience in the mining or manufacturing sectors preferred.

    Manager: Speak-up & Investigations

    ABOUT THE ROLE 

    • Lead the management and investigation of whistleblowing cases, ensuring timely resolution, strong governance, and alignment with AngloGold Ashanti’s compliance framework and values.

    WORK ACCOUNTABILITIES 

    • Maintenance of Whistleblowing cases
    • Monthly Reconciliation on the cases reported for the month versus the cases closed for the month
    • Weekly Reporting to management on status of cases
    • Perform Whistleblowing investigations in instances where cases are of a highly sensitive nature and cannot be allocated to a Departmental Investigator.
    • Ensure Communications are done timeously and accurately, in line with Statutory and Company requirements
    • Maintain a register of all Whistleblowing tests performed
    • Facilitate Regional Audit and Assurance meetings and assess whether controls are being maintained and met.
    • Prepare the quarterly Board Audit Committee, Regional Audit Committee and other requested reports
    • Perform a consultative role to the business on governance and controls.
    • Create awareness around the Whistleblowing process, including developing and providing training, where necessary.
    • Foster and maintain a solid working relationship with Third Party vendors.
    • Partner with Regional Offices in instances where cases are outside of the Corporate Office.
    • Provide a quality and value adding service, whilst maintaining sound professional relationships with clients.
    • Establish and build client relationships with allocated function heads and departmental designated investigators, with the view of achieving finalisation of Whistleblowing cases.
    • Create working papers and reports adhering to the Group and Statutory requirements and standards.
    • Conduct Compliance reviews, when required.
    • Apply/adhere to organisational procedures and Legislative requirements
    • Have knowledge on the application of ethical conduct and compliance with corporate governance, principles and social responsibility
    • Honour Anonymity requests
    • Support the Compliance Department in achieving departmental goals and tasks
    • Participate in Departmental projects and initiatives
