    Principal Specialist: Financial Planning

    Job description

    Requirements

    • To ensure that key financial and business objectives of the Financial Services Group within Vodacom are met with regards to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, analysis, control and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide support to the Financial Services businesses, manages the financial reporting, forecast processes, Financial Services Board (FSB) requirements and long range plan/strategy together with FinOps, business, marketing teams and managing executives.
    • Deliver reporting for tracking of strategic objectives, expenditure by category and segment and key commercial initiatives. Full understanding of the financial services cost drivers.
    • This role will incorporate the below requirements for the Vodacom Payment Services entity as well as the overall Financial Services Group.

    Management

    • Day to day management of the Financial Services business partner team (dotted line)
    • with regards to operational requirements
    • Review FS BP team submissions and reconciliations
    • Approval of POs (where necessary);
    • Approval of journals (SAP)
    • Responsible for overall process management and reporting of the financial services
    • group
    • Reporting
    • Board, MANCO and EXCO Financial Reports;
    • SAP & HFM reports;
    • Monthly Balance Sheet & Income Statement;
    • Liaising with Internal & External Auditors;
    • Completion of annual financial statements;
    • Monthly variance analysis;
    • Monthly KPI/KFIs;
    • Investment Committee presentations, report preparations & the implementation of the
    • Committee resolutions
    • Ad-hoc
    • Month-end processing
    • Trial balance review (Revenue and cost review);
    • Balance Sheet reconciliations;
    • Accounting for Insurance technical provisions (IBNR);
    • Providing accruals and provision journals;
    • Accounts receivable – invoicing, payments and processing;
    • Accounts payable –invoicing, payment and processing;
    • Ad-hoc resolution of queries related to month-end processing
    • Cash flow
    • Transfers to & from investment accounts to get the best return & to meet the FSB

    Requirements

    • Provisions for payments;
    • prepare reports for the Investment Committee
    • Business Support and Statutory requirements
    • Review FSB Quarterly and Annual Returns;
    • Review Tax Department support on returns;
    • Support with product development and pricing (business cases);
    • Review IFRS compliance and ensure adhered to (initiate actions when necessary);
    • Risk identification and control implementation on all financial processes within the
    • financial services group.
    • Control and Governance
    • Manage an effective operational control environment over financial items, identifying
    • weaknesses and development and implementation of solutions.
    • Ensure business decisions are implemented and executed within the approved and
    • accepted governance framework.
    • Operational Support
    • Manage interface, delivery and reporting deadlines & requirements from Financial
    • Operations for month ends, various forecasts, presentations and commentary;
    • Assist with Financial Model development

    Other

    • Understanding of VIP (Vodafone Integrated Planning) and the submission of budgets
    • and forecasts on this platform;
    • Understand HFM (Hyperion Financial Management) reporting and the use thereof;
    • Assist with business cases and ensure proper process is adhered to;
    • Perform ad-hoc tasks and projects relating to Finance and/or Commercial issues.

    Principle Specialist - SCM Enablement

    Job description

    Job Summary

    The core purpose of the role will be to support the EHOD: SCM Enablement to deliver support to the SCM category teams and the Global functions and to constantly optimise the SCM tools, processes and reporting that delivers against agreed value add targets and measures while securing the delivery of projects, goods and services across the local & regional category (or categories) to support Vodafone’s business goals, thus effectively managing risk.

    Requirements

    The role is positioned in the Enablement Department of Supply Chain Management within Vodacom (Pty) Ltd.

    • The individual will be responsible to deliver systems and solutions that enable the optimisation of the end-to-end supply chain and are managed diligently.
    • The individual will be responsible to identify opportunities in the business and design fit for purpose solutions.
    • The individual will be required to work on a strategy and tactical level but also delve deep into the detail of systems from a business perspective and to provide input and then support global tool and process execution and management of the delivery of Operations and Enablement strategies.
    • The design, implementation and periodic distribution of related reports to stakeholders.

    • Good understanding and experience of procure to pay and SCM.
    • Experienced in managing change and transformation.
