    HR Assistant

    Job description

    As HR Assistant, your overall objective will be to ensure the HR department’s smooth and effective operation, in order to deliver maximum value to the organization as a whole. You will act as the first point of contact for HR-related queries from employees and external stakeholders; carry out personnel-related administrative duties; manage records, documents and databases; and ensure resolution of all HR processes.

    Specific responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

    • recruiting and staffing;
    • employment and compliance to regulatory concerns regarding employees;
    • employee onboarding, development, needs assessment, and training;
    • policy development and documentation;
    • employee relations;
    • organizational departmental planning;
    • Maintaining employee files, records and databases
    • Preparing HR documents like employment contracts and new starter guides
    • Documenting HR actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Passion for the African Travel Industry
    • Positive, enthusiastic and friendly attitude
    • Ideally, 2-3 years experience as an assistant or in an HR related role
    • An Undergraduate degree or diploma from a recognized tertiary institution, specializing in a relevant field like HR Management or Business Administration. Any additional HR training would be advantageous
    • Some experience with, or knowledge of, HR Management software and candidate sourcing tools
    • An understanding of HR policies and procedures, as well as employment and labour laws
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Clear aptitude in problem-solving
    • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
    • The ability to handle data with confidentiality
    • The desire to work in a growing team with a results driven approach
