    EPMO Programme Manager

    Job description

    TRACKER requires the services of a EPMO Programme Manager responsible for managing programs consisting of multiple complex projects or programs to achieve specific business goals or objectives; works in a coordinated manner to ensure proper balanced allocation of resources, individual project profitability and high client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be required to deliver IT projects to drive business automation and business efficiencies.

    KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Be accountable for delivering program results on GDoH initiatives.
    • Translate program requirements into individual project objectives.
    • Track / reports progress of multiple projects.
    • Influence team direction & results both internally and with the client base.
    • Identify opportunities for cross-competency area participation &contacts appropriate personnel.
    • Balance resources, schedules & financial factors while solving complex problems with multi-discipline approach.
    • Work directly with the customer base to understand the level of support the team provides.
    • Facilitate complex team meetings involving a variety of multi-disciplinary teams, programmes and resources. Demonstrates credibility as a business partner and ensures business decisions are reached to support business goals and objectives.
    • Develops and directs the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards where applicable for the assigned program; interprets and complies with all applicable legislation and regulations.
    • Monitors and directs or performs day-to-day operations of the assigned program to ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met, and that services and projects are being accomplished efficiently and effectively; takes corrective action as necessary and, where subordinates are present, may relieve them of the most difficult, sensitive or controversial projects within the program.
    • Develops and monitors the program’s budget; oversees financial well-being of the program by analyzing cost effectiveness and exercising cost controls; prepares, submits and justifies budget enhancement requests to the Programme Director.
    • Plans, organizes, administers, reviews and evaluates the work of subordinate professional, technical, support and operational staff where present, through subordinate supervisors and lead workers.
    • Provides for the selection, training, professional development and work evaluation of subordinate staff and makes recommendations on hiring, termination, promotion and discipline as required.
    • Monitors and stays abreast of technological, legal and operational changes that affect the activities and work processes of the program; makes recommendations for and develops and carries out improvements to the program to meet changing mission parameters and requirements.
    • Confers with and represents the program and the department in meetings with other line departments and divisions; serves as the Programme representative with a variety of public, business and community groups and organizations; fosters collaborative working relationships to the benefit of the program and the department.
    • Has expert experience in Project Management and able to lead in the coaching and mentoring of team members to help them achieve expectations and deliverables.
    • Generates alternatives & improves creative solutions.
    • Creation and support of standards, processes and procedures necessary to produce the deliverables from the team.
    • Confidently makes presentations to large audiences.
    • Act as liaison between all functional groups.
    • Develop lessons learned documentation.

    Experience, qualifications and competency requirements:

    • A four year Degree plus a Postgraduate Qualification.
    • 10 to 12 years of experience in project management and at least 2 years in program management, with proven history of successful general management.
    • Provide a history of successful project planning, analysis, project control, including risk assessment, cost management and change control.
    • Possession of the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
    • Have strong communication skills, both written and oral with public presentation experience.
    • Well-developed leadership skills in a matrix organization structure.
    • Strong Customer focus in all dealings
    • Proven ability at operating at a senior level in the private sector
