    Job description

    • Participates in the recruiting, screening, and interviewing processes to fill current or expected job vacancies. May communicate with applicants and candidates regarding consideration for employment and the specifics of the role.
    • Recruits, screens and interviews internal and external applicants to fill current or expected job vacancies in alignment with the organization’s recruiting strategies and legislative requirements.
    • Reviews and evaluates applicant's background information in comparison to the job vacancy and facilitates the applicable reference checks, background checks and applicant testing processes.
    • Communicates with candidates regarding their application status; may extend job offers and prepares the appropriate job offer paperwork processes.
    • Informs candidates of jobs duties and responsibilities, compensation and benefits programs, work schedule and conditions, and career advancement opportunities.
    • Ensures the organization's recruiting processes are carried out in accordance with applicable internal policies, procedures and government legislation.
    • Communicates with external recruitment contacts to provide information regarding career opportunities.
    • May travel to recruiting events.
    • Arranges interviews and travel logistics for selected applicants; partners with line human resources to ensure interview and selection process progress smoothly.
    • Collaborates with hiring managers and other key stakeholders in the recruiting process.
    • Utilizes and maintains applicant tracking system including periodic reporting to stakeholders.
    • Skills
    • External Recruitment – Works through the entire recruitment process with a team. Understands and applies knowledge of legal regulations affecting recruitment.
    • Staffing – Has a solid understanding of existing selection tools and effectively demonstrates the use of these tools in the staffing process.
    • Employment Law – Possesses a basic understanding of the laws and regulations commonly applied in the workplace. Can identify and seek assistance when issues arise.
    • Communication – Is able to effectively and clearly communicate in both written and verbal means.
    • Diversity Management – Has a basic understanding of diversity management concepts and practices.
    • Compensation Administration – Possesses a basic knowledge of pay systems, merit pay structure, and variable pay compensation structures.
    • Immigration Law – Possesses basic knowledge of the immigration documentation process and requirements for employment of foreign nationals and the legal right to work.

    Education, Licenses, Certifications

    College, university, or equivalent degree in human resources, labor relations, business or related field required.

    Experience

    Minimal level of relevant work experience required.

    Can effectively manage recruiting projects and events. A firm understanding of Employee Value Proposition principles and the application to the bigger brand. Solid understanding of the HR supply chain and the recruiting value chain. Good systems knowledge and prior experience on CRM systems. Experience in candidate mapping and pipelining will be an advantage.
