    People and OD Manager

    Job description

    Job summary

    Key duties of the People and OD Manager will be: to design and implement FMI’s People Plan by leveraging OD disciplines (talent management, culture, employee engagement, performance management, org design, org effectiveness etc) in support of the business strategy. To partner with line managers in implementing and maintaining the company human resources policy in alignment with the company’s culture.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support the Remuneration and Benefits process. Work collaboratively with the Payroll Administrator to ensure that payroll requirements are met and that new employee take-on’s, status changes, and employee exits are handled efficiently and effectively.
    • Recruitment and Selection
    • implement end to end recruitment process in collaboration with the department manager, placement, induction of new employees and effective administration of the process.
    • Performance and Talent Management:
    • Support the Remuneration and Benefits process.
    • Work collaboratively with the Payroll Administrator to ensure that
    • payroll requirements are met and that new employee take-on’s, status changes, and employee exits are handled efficiently and effectively.
    • Coordinate and administer change management /employee engagement initiatives.
    • Support management with IR related issues, including discussion and dispute resolution, managing of disciplinary cases, administration thereof and accurate reporting.
    • Support employee wellness and employee assistance initiatives and ensure that these are effectively communicated, leveraged and utilised.
    • Work closely with all departments assisting line managers to
    • understand and comply with HR policies and procedures.
    • Organisational Design: Ensure the relevant administrative processes are followed to effect changes to the organisation structure. Engage with line to ensure that the organisation structure is maintained, effective and up to date.
    • Provide accurate HR advice and support to all employees.
    • Submit accurate and timely HR reporting as required. Collate employee related information and reports according to deadlines and business requirements.
    • Design, support and /or implement ad hoc HR related projects.
    • Co-ordinate and facilitate Employment Equity and Skills Development process.
    • Compile employee related communication where required.
    • Implement FMI’s talent management strategy, performance management, talent development, succession planning and critical skills retention.
    • Facilitate Performance Management training for staff.
    • Coach line on the performance management process including poor performance management.
    • Drive the completion of target setting with area of responsibility.
    • Coordinate the performance appraisal process and consolidate performance ratings.
    • Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs within area of responsibility.
    • Engage People Development Team re: training needs and track progress.
    • Assist People Development Team with logistics for onsite training.
    • Facilitate training as required.

    Experience & Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Psychology/Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Business, Organisation Development or related.
    • A minimum of four years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
    • Specialised knowledge in employment law, compensation, organisational planning, organisation development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labour relations, preferred.
    • Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organisations and ongoing community involvement, preferred.
    • Possess ongoing affiliations with leaders in successful companies and organisations that practice effective Human Resources Management.
