    OD Consultant

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    Primarily responsible for ensuring that the people impact of the change is adequately planned for, with a view to minimise productivity-loss during the transition. The Change Management Specialist is accountable for the development of the change management plan for cluster wide change projects throughout the project lifecycle, and to collaborate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure implementation through a network of change champions in the relevant division/business areas.

    Job Responsibilities 

    Managed Stakeholder Relationships

    • Conduct Stakeholder Analysis to determine an appropriate engagement approach to optimise participation and support for the planned change.
    • Monitor stakeholder involvement levels through various assessments to maximise buy-in.
    • Develop collaborative relationships through face to face meetings with business leaders to act as change leaders.
    • Establish a change team by considering the impacted work streams to ensure the planned change is executed throughout the change life cycle.

     Managed Internal Processes

    • Mitigate the risk of prolonged implementation of change through planned, deliberate and sequential management of change, in order to minimise organisational disruption brought about by change. 
    • Conduct a change impact assessment to consider the duration, impacted audiences, complexity and organisational capability as well as to inform the selection of an appropriate change strategy.
    • Create a change plan to support the strategy implementation in partnership with the larger project/program team to collectively realise the change benefits.
    • Identify change team members (depending on the type of change) that represent the interests of the organisation to maximise the delivery of sustainable change.
    • Adhere to proven project management practices in an effort to deliver sound benefits in a governed way.
    • Select change interventions to optimise the shift required to progress the enrolment of stakeholder/s.
    • Implement required change intervention/s with due consideration to institutional policies, practices and agreements to ensure the achievement of the change enrolment objectives.
    • Compile change reports highlighting progress, issues and risks to key decision makers to ensure project governance and change implementation progress.

    Managed Leadership and Learning results

    • Review Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensure delivered systems, process, services and solutions are in alignment to support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
    • Share professional knowledge by providing input and guidance to the application of methodology so that buy-in is obtained and approved methodologies and processes are applied by stakeholders.
    • Obtain buy-in for value-adding projects by providing coaching, training and support, focussed on long-term use and continuous improvement to ensure the sustained realisation of the intended business benefits.

    Managed Transformation and Change

    • Seek opportunities to improve processes and systems by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate and adding value to Nedbank.
    • Understand the case for change through analysis and best practice research to enable process optimisation, technology enablement, capacity modelling and to provide insight when defining the detailed design in order to deliver value-adding changes.

    Essential Qualification

    • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities  or Psychology
    • Skilled and experienced in Change Methodologies, ie. ADKAR, McKinsey, Agile Management, Kotters Eight Step Model, Prosci etc

    Preferred Certifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities  or Psychology with preferably Organisational Design and Change Management as subjects and or Change Management Diploma

    Minimum Experience Level

    • Minimum 5 - 8 years’ experience in Change Management including: Project Management/ Resource Management Experience.
    • At least 3 - 5 year experience in managing large change initiative, stakeholder management and organisational alignment.
