    Job description

    Job Purpose

    Reporting to the Claims Manager, the incumbent will be required to liaise with employers to comprehend the salary and benefits reflected on claimants’ payslips, and to enable employers to share accurate information with RMA claim processing staff. The incumbent will also assist the Claims Managers’ to ensure that the amounts claimed are calculated correctly and that the percentage allocated for a claim is based on the correct values on the payslip.

    Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Matric
    • RE 5 /RE1 would be advantageous
    • Payroll qualification is highly advantageous
    • 2- 3 years’ experience as payroll administrator, is highly advantageous
    • Insurance background would be advantageous

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

    • Review and confirm earnings as indicated on payslips;
    • Actively liaise with claims employer and possibly train employers on how to calculate and submit earnings
    • Actively liaise with employees;
    • Sign off on claim quantum’s
    • Process payments of the claims;
    • Review the operational procedures in calculating earnings;
    • Review company notifications and newsletters to clients; in order to simplify and use payroll language;
    • Training of claims personnel;
    • Assessing the competency of claims personnel to calculate earnings;
    • Attend workshop with sales and marketing to understand the business and Ensure product understanding and understanding of operational procedures.
