Job description

We are looking for candidates with high energy, knowledgeable in the field of machine learning and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment. Many of our projects require that we apply existing techniques in novel ways, or come up with new solutions altogether.

Responsibilities will thus include small research projects to prove whether or not a certain approach would work in practice; and to adapt it where necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Knowledge of and interest in machine learning algorithms e.g.: boosting methods, Artificial Neural Networks
• BSc/Honours in a related field, specifically Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics
• Experience in handling, interpreting and analyzing data efficiently
• Python (Knowledge of machine learning libraries would be advantageous, e.g.: sklearn, TensorFlow)
• Previous data-science/predictive analytics work experience is advantageous

We’re located in Green Point, Cape Town, in an awesome start-up office complete with astro-turfed floors, an arcade machine and all the free coffee you could want.

Our Culture

Our culture is focused on machine learning. The conversations in the office frequently centre on applications of machine learning to real world situations as well as new achievements such as AlphaGo. We enjoy participating in Kaggle competitions and have implemented a number of the deep TensorFlow networks for our own suite of products.
