    Marketing and Communications Manager

    Job Description

    OVERVIEW

    To direct the marketing of NMG Benefits products and services. The Marketing Manager must become familiar and know the company’s product line, historical market, potential market, media costs, media response, and budgeting issues. The Manager must be intimate with a number of advertising media, such as radio, television, phone solicitation, email and digital campaigns, and events.

    Key Performance Objectives

    • Analyse marketing trends and tracking competitors’ activities and providing valuable
    • Inputs for product enhancement
    • Ensure implementation of marketing programs within agreed timelines
    • Manage relationship with Group Marketing
    • Manage marketing programs and develop marketing collateral like product sheets,
    • Corporate brochure, etc.
    • Building relationship and working with the creative agencies team to execute inspiring creative work for the NMG brand.
    • Support the execution of marketing events across regions as per the event calendar
    • To promote and safeguard the good corporate reputation of NMG Benefits and to raise awareness and understanding internal systems and initiatives by:
    • Developing and managing internal communications activities that involve engage and inform staff across NMG
    • Developing and managing the NMG’s intranet site, ICON, including design, content and technical functions, to ensure that it is useful for staff, and content is up-to-date, accurate and consistent with the NMG style guide
    • Developing and managing production of NMG’s monthly staff newsletter, The Arrowhead, ensuring it is credible, informative and well received by staff, produced on time and to a high standard
    • Managing the NMG team briefing process, and ensuring it effectively communicates corporate messages through NMG, and gathers staff input into the NMG’s future plans

    ACTIVITIES

    • Marketing Plan
    • Design, implement, update, and facilitate NMG’s annual marketing plan.
    • Support and facilitate development and implementation of section business/marketing plans.
    • Manage marketing suppliers and multi-media resources
    • Negotiates with media agents to secure agreements for translation of materials into other media.
    • Edits materials according to specific market or customer requirements.
    • Develop promotional materials including marketing collateral and print copies.
    • Produce materials of visual impact and within brand guidelines.
    • Develop new ideas for reaching end user markets using the latest in electronic technologies.
    • Support business development activities
    • Assists Business Development Director with strategic sales initiatives.
    • Assisting in strategic planning for client presentations, beauty parades, etc.
    • Offer coaching for prospective client meetings, presentations, etc.
    • Work with regional offices on designing and implementing prospecting and client contact systems.
    • Oversee corporate communications activities
    • External communications and systems.
    • Internal communications and systems.
    • Public relations efforts.
    • External vendors and consultants.
    • Develop and administer marketing database
    • Develop client and prospect information database, mailing list applications, etc.
    • Develop business units
    • Develop and deliver insightful presentations and strategies to the business unit and executive committee where appropriate.
    • Ensure the integration of the business units marketing functions within that of the greater group, and ensure that the business units optimize its use of shared and support services.
    • Assist the business units to meet its objectives, live the values and culture and to practice company policies.

    General marketing functions

    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis.
    • Maintains up to date with professional sector news.
    • Attend key conferences and events to represent firm, build key relationships, manage exhibition booths and conduct customer interviews and focus groups.
    • Liaise with Events Coordinator to maximise visibility at conferences, including compiling a list of products and literature to display/demo, producing delegate inserts, etc.
    • Assist business units with events planning, organization and execution.
    • Copy writing of articles, marketing materials etc.
    • Liaison with media and publishers as required.
    • Ensuring that all marketing materials do not deviate from the established brand image of the business.
    • Supporting the development of the website and keep website up to date as necessary.
    • Use email, social & professional internet networks and other electronic marketing techniques to inform customers of new products and generate sales.
    • Where possible, cross market and raise the profile of the other products and services within the group.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • An appropriate Marketing qualification
    • Minimum 5 -8 years marketing experience (both in communication and marketing)
    • Proven track record with demonstrated success in brand management
