    Job Description

    • Assist with implementation and maintenance of an integrated certified management system (IMS) that fulfils the ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001 standards for MRSA and alliance at the AC House.
    • Assist and promote the quality, health, safety and environmental functions in a manner that protects the company, employees, customer and assets against losses, injuries, and accidents by the development and enforcement of safe work practices / programs.
    • Assist with MRSA compliance with AC Group, Legal and Regulatory plus Customer requirements in all areas relevant to SHEQ.
    • Assist with implementation and maintenance of hazard / aspect and risk / impact awareness program / campaign.
    • Implement, coordinate and control SHEQ internal and/or external audit processes for MRSA and alliance, and report the performance of these audits to the MRSA SHEQ Manager on a monthly basis.
    • Implement, assist and control SHEQ risk assessments and make recommendations for improvements as required for the AC House complex areas under MRSA responsibilities.
    • Ensure all SHEQ requirements are adhered to, including the issue and use of PPE, with the objective of achieving MRSA target of zero accidents, incidents and property damages.
    • Assist with the reporting and controlling of accurate record keeping relating to SHEQ statistics, and participate on incident investigations as and when required.
    • Assist and support applicable management to ensure that SHEQ procedures and policies are implemented, operating effectively and that all personnel are fully engaged and trained in the processes.
    • Participate in daily / weekly / monthly SHEQ or other meetings and report any SHEQ statistics as required for MRSA.
    • Assist with COIDAct (Compensation for Occupation, Injuries and Diseases Act) implementation, reporting and compliance.
    • Ensure that SHEQ Objectives and targets for AC House MRSA are rolled out and effectively implement at areas of responsibilities (e.g. AC House).
    • Assist and support the roll out of the MRSA Local as well as Group SHEQ strategy for areas under your responsibilities (e.g. AC House).
    • Assist with the implementation initiatives and processes to prevent injuries, ill-health and environmental pollution (i.e. Focusing on pro-active rather than re-active) to enhance a culture of SHEQ awareness and good practices (i.e. total well-being of employees).
    • Assist with Auditing and verification (e.g. GAP analysis) that all activities and facilities comply with Legal and AC Group requirements (e.g. AC House).
    • Assist with the collection and correct reporting of all SHEQ statistics / information required from AC House Complex for the quarterly Sustainability Reporting in GPS.
    • Assist and advise with necessary SHEQ Training Needs for AC House to ensure compliance with all statutory and other requirements (i.e. Legal appointments, Driven machinery, Lifting equipment, etc.).
    • Perform follow-up SHEQ internal audits based on previous findings and outstanding actions (i.e. including assistance if required to the MRSA branches and/or Mine sites and with supplier’s audits).
    • Ensure that the Chemical Handling Database is kept up to date for MRSA, including conducting risk assessments and get approval for all new chemicals required on site.
    • Ensure that Contractors on AC House under the MRBA comply with the OHSAct – Construction Regulations (e.g. Inspection of working area and SH&E File including appointments and checklists, etc.).
    • Coordinate and control the Hazardous Waste Facility operations and services at the AC House.
    • Assist with SHEQ and Security Inductions for AC House complex as required (i.e. Permanent employees and/or Contractors).
    • Assist with the management and control of all Legal appointments for MRSA and alliance.
    • Any other ad-hoc tasks and/or responsibilities at the discretion of the MRSA SHEQ Manager.

    Mission

    To ensure that MRSA, Academy, DC and ACBS complies with all SHEQ legal and Group requirements. Coordinate, assist and drive the implementation of ISO standards within the AC House scope of work to ultimately achieve triple certification by an independent certification body by focusing on effective IMS structures and processes.

    Experience Requirements

    • At least 2 to 3 years experience within industrial / mining background in SHEQ.ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 Implementation and internal auditing experience will be advantageous.

    Knowledge

    Exposure to HIRA, SWP’s, PTO’s and establishing of SHEQ Manuals will be advantageous.Good understanding of the OHSAct and ISO SHEQ management systems will be advantageous. Legal Compliance Auditing experience will be advantageous.MS Office, MS Excel & MS PowerPoint will be advantageous.

    Educational Requirements

    A Grade 12 qualification with relevant SHEQ experience. National Diploma / Certificates (e.g. NOSA / IRCA / etc.) on SHEQ fields or any other suitable National Qualifications.Technical background (e.g. Qualified Artisan) will be advantageous.

    • Must be able to travel if required.
