UI Designer at Derivco

Job description

We are looking for a talented designer to design and shape unique, user-centric web products and experiences. The ideal candidate will have experience working in agile teams, with developers, UI designers and Business Analysts. You will need to be able to translate any given user-experience journey into a smooth and intuitive interaction.

Responsibilities

• Be a great team player, experienced in working with agile teams. Ability to collaborate closely with developers, UI Specialist and Business Analysts.
• Create, improve and use wireframes, prototypes and effectively communicate your interaction ideas using any of these methods.
• Present and defend your design decisions. All your design decisions should be based on the overall design roadmap as well as your own design thinking and fundamental principles (i.e. color theory, visual weight, etc.)
• Continually keep yourself up-to-date with the latest changes in your industry’s standards.
• Animation through code

Requirements

• Three or more years of experience and proven track record.
• Strong portfolio to be presented during interview.
• Hands-on experience creating wireframes, prototypes, storyboards, user flows, etc.
• Experience using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Animate.
• Understanding of basic front-end languages: HTML5, CSS3 JavaScript.
• Creative ideas with problem solving mindset.
• Experience working in an agile/scrum development process.
• Must have a strong focus on the User Experience and Visual Design
• Must have strong UI skills and a passion for iteration
• A strong foundation in Web Design and Graphic Design
• Photoshop and Illustrator
• Canvas, experience advantageous
• Angular, experience advantageous
• Markdown, Pug or Haml experience advantageous
• Sass, Stylus or Less an advantage
• Bootstrap, Materials or any other CSS framework experience
• PixiJS, TweenJS experience an advantage
