    Accounts Assistant

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    • This role requires a dynamic individual who is very hands on and pays a lot of attention to detail.
    • The role will primarily support the finance manager in ensuring that the finance division of Control Risks Southern Africa Hub runs smoothly.
    • This position will also work closely with other regions within Control Risks Group to ensure all intercompany transactions are correctly recorded timeously.
    • The individual will need to continue to strive to improve current processes and develop his/her own knowledge within accounts.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Accounts receivables processing and ensuring a clean debtors book
    • Account Entries into dynamics: journals (banks, suppliers, expenses), ledger maintenance
    • Review of travel invoices in conjunction with the office manager
    • Accounts payables function – ensure all vendor invoices are correct and captured correctly taking in account VAT and loading payments
    • Maintain IT costs to be sent to group IT monthly
    • Maintaining accurate records in compliance with Control Risks data retention policy
    • Supplier management and liaison
    • Ensure Control Risks is maintained as an approved vendor on all clients databases. Assist in getting Control Risks loaded
    • Ensure that all mobile phones charges are posted to correct department and resolve any disputes
    • Provide information to other parts of the EURAF finance team and wider business on an ad hoc basis
    • Review processes on a regular basis to ensure efficiency is maintained

    Knowledge and Experience

    Essential

    • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
    • To have a sound knowledge of double entry accounting
    • High attention to detail and numeracy
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Ability to converse effectively with both finance and non-finance personnel
    • Ability to be proactive in identifying procedural weaknesses and being able to push forward chang
    • Good problem solving skills
    • Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative
    • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines
    • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
    • Ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment

    Preferred

    • Experience of working with multicurrency’s and overseas subsidiaries
    • Experience in developing financial system requirements and implementing process improvements
    • Experience of working within a commercially focused global business

    Qualifications and Specialist Skills

    Undergraduate finance qualification or studying towards a finance qualification
