Job description

The Software Engineering Team Leader manages the Sage One Payroll development team on a day-to-day basis as part of the international Sage Cloud Payroll organisation. He/she enables the team to success by providing the necessary environment and using his/her leadership to motivate and inspire them, especially during any strategic or organizational transitions. He/she takes responsibility to structure teams, processes and procedures in a most effective way. He/she assures quality and sustainability of technical concepts as well as the delivery of product releases in time and quality.

• Line responsibility for the development team: Continuous development of the employees to create a performance strong team
• Leading the team towards strategic, organizational and functional changes
• Continually improve your own knowledge and skill set, sharing this with the wider team and providing mentor-ship as appropriate.
• Evaluate options and create achievable plans and estimates; manage the delivery of technical solutions to the required efficiency and quality standards, scope, costs and timeline
• Give the team guidance in decision making in all questions around software design and implementation and act as interface to other departments and key roles (e.g. architects)
• Ensure that the team follow agreed processes, maintain high standards and contribute to the establishment of best practice
• Generate extraordinary customer experience (to external and internal consumers)
