(791) Associate Data Statistical Steward-ESD at South African Reserve Bank

Detailed description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

• Collect, prepare and submit preliminary research in line with data management methodologies and frameworks to provide accurate and reliable data that support the production of high-quality statistics for ESD stakeholders. 
• Identify new data sources based on the outcomes of data quality assessments to extend the range of economic statistics for ESD stakeholders, to enable effective decision making.
• Monitor published statistics to ensure they meet agreed quality standards.
• Monitor the metadata registry by ensuring compliance with the metadata framework.
• Proactively identify data and statistical integrity and quality issues.
• Participate in relevant data management projects.
• Stay abreast with current data management methodologies and new developments in all knowledge areas and ensure supervised application thereof.
• Propose and implement the refinement and continuous improvement of systems, tools, methods and processes in own area.

Job requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

• a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related and equivalent qualification;
• a minimum of one to two years’ job-related experience with a strong background in data management, data sourcing and data stewardship; and
• relevant certifications (will be an added advantage).
