    Human Resources Manager

    Job description

    An opportunity has arisen to join Sodexo, a leading global Facilities Management business. In South Africa Sodexo develops, manages and delivers a range of services for clients in the corporate, healthcare, education, and energy and resources sectors.     We are offering an excellent opportunity for a Human Resources Manager to support our operations. The main responsibilities will be to support the Human Resources strategy and also to enhance our relationship with all stakeholders in view of employees and customers.

    Role Responsibility:

    • With the General Manager and relevant departments, ensure that growth and development of the country’s business is aligned with the Human Resources strategy
    • Continuously develop and implement the recruitment strategy and policies of the company within the set goals
    • Ensure that all Human Resources policies and procedures are implemented, including the management and representation of the company at all CCMA procedures that employees are involved in.
    • Ensure that all learning and development goals, policies and procedures are defined, adhered, achieved and managed. Specific reference to legislative requirements as set by law.
    • Keep up with labour legislation, developments, trends and strategies ensuring that the policies and procedures are aligned with local labour laws.
    • Ensure that all performance management requirements are met throughout the local entity and within the policies and procedures as set by Group.
    • Ensure that the Health and Safety system, policies and procedures, appointments are met within the local legal requirements.
    • Ensure that all Health and Wellness related policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to in the local entity.
    • Manage the direct reporting functions under your section of responsibilities, ensuring adherence to all legislation, policies and procedures.
    • Prepare and co-ordinate the annual B-BBEE reports, including ensuring that all departments are adhering to the parameters as set by the company.
    • Submission of Employment Equity and Skills Development elements reports to the Executive as well as department of labour on an annual basis as required by law.
    • Compile and report information on functions of area of responsibility on a monthly and basis to Group as well as the Executive committee.
    • Ownership of the Employment Equity and Affirmative Action program within the local entity, ensuring that all departments adhere to the guidelines as set by the company and local legislation.
    • Collaboration of all departments and your direct reports on all related matters.
    • Participate and advise on employee benefits and rewards within the guidelines as set by Group

    Ideal Candidate:

    • Degree/Diploma in Human Resources/Legal Management or any other business related discipline.
    • Minimum 5 to 8 years relevant working experience preferred in Food and Facilities Management industry.
    • Very strong communication skills.
    • Self-organised, resourceful, good judgment, result oriented and can lead a team of specialists to finalize value-add service within the organization.
    • Sound negotiation skills
    • Strong analytical skills – including the ability to create the most compelling and competitive offers to both existing and prospective employees-Sodexo as preferred employer.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with, and influence stakeholders at all levels (excellent verbal and written English skills are required).
    • Excellent knowledge of standard software tools (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).

    South African or international driver’s license is required.
