    HR Manager

    Job description

    Job Purpose:

    The HR Manager in-country is responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Programme's human resources operations functions. S/he plans, implements and evaluates employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices in collaboration with HR Headquarters to ensure the smooth running of HR operations in accordance with departmental commitments. S/he operates within a compliance framework, proactively, managing all risk as related to employment practices as well as identifying and implementing changes in HR legislation and policy.

    Qualifying Criteria:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
    • Post graduate qualification in Human Resources - preferred
    • 10 years of overall Human Resource experience, with 5 years’ experience operating at a management level

    Technical Knowledge and Skill Required:

    • Ability to use theoretically sound Reward analysis tools and surveys to identify and assess indicators/ opportunities for change in terms of appropriate Reward strategies/ drivers.
    • Ability to analyse and interpret external Reward survey results and translate them into action within the organization
    • Knowledge and application of compensation concepts, principles and practices including pay, leave, retirement benefits, medical cover and supplementary employee benefits.
    • Knowledge and interpretation of people policies and procedures in place in the organisation and the translation of requirements to enable line managers and employees to understand the requirements.
    • Knowledge of the process of matching jobs to market information in terms of size and scope of the job for reward benchmarking purposes.
    • Ability to coordinate multiple administrative activities in to enable the efficient operations.
    • Ability to apply labour laws, regulatory frameworks, court precedents, legal practices and the processes described in each of these.
    • Proven experience in developing strategic HR plans.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
