Job Description

The Finance team in the Johannesburg office at Turner & Townsend is seeking for a self-driven, detailed oriented accountant to assist with all aspects of the finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the accountant will provide support to the team and business units as required, including assistance with the development of ad hoc financial analyses. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare Invoicing/Income for South Africa – including all the accounting work to get to this level
• Ensure that Fee Trackers are updated correctly and accurate
• Ensuring expenses are included in the monthly invoices
•  Ensure all invoicing is accurate and timely
• Effectively update the cashflow in country and ensure that daily receipts are updated
• Update the monthly debt schedule
• Ensuring that the subconsultant recons are updated and reconciled and process subcon payments
• Assist with all invoicing queries
• To assist with audit queries – invoicing related
• Effectively manage invoice process and ensure that policies and procedures are strictly followed
• Support the BU leaders and ensuring the income is processed timeously and accurately
• Consolidate Africa Cash flows and ensure they are free of errors 
• Run the full treasury function across Southern & West Africa and assist east Africa in compliance on their treasury function
• Adhoc support to Financial Manager on Africa reporting to group

Qualifications

•  Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
• 6-10 years post-graduate experience in accounting function would be beneficial
• Proven ability to work in a deadline driven environment
•  High degree of organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Quantitative thinker who is a problem solver
• Excellent Microsoft Office Skills with a strong emphasis on Excel
•  Works well in a team environment
