• The successful incumbent should have a post-graduate qualification in Statistics or Biometry and proficiency with at least one statistical package and Microsoft Office. The ability to work with GENSTAT would be an advantage. An individual who has attention to detail, excellent planning and organising skills and the ability to analyse and evaluate data would be most suitable. Ideally applicants will have a minimum of two years' experience in experimental design and analysis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the Biometry Team
• Biometry Research and development ensuring the institute stays at the cutting-edge of methods in statistics
• Statistical analysis of experimental data
• Liaising with researchers to discuss trial design, statistical analysis and explanation of statistical results
• Providing researchers with training in existing and new statistical methods
• Producing graphical presentations of the data
• Producing experimental designs and field plans
• Management of trial information in the databases, experience in Oracle would be advantageous (no programming skills required for this)
