Communications & Public Relations Specialist at MECS (Pty) Ltd

Requirements:

• Relevant 3-year degree/ diploma (NQF level 6 minimum), preferably in Public Relations, Communications and/or Journalism.
• Post-graduate degree (NQF level 8), MBA/MBL will be an advantage.
• 7 years' experience of which at least 2 years must be on management level.
• Experience in the ICT sector will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement internal and external PR and Stakeholder engagement strategy
• Develop and maintain crisis communication plans and provide counsel to leaders on crisis communication and reputational risk management.
• Ensure the development and monitoring of communications related metrics
• Develop leadership profiling, imaging plans and communication capabilities
• Drive product, brand, public relations and sponsorship strategy and initiatives.
• Manage third party communications relationships as required and act as the voice for in all media relations.
• Responsible to develop and maintain proactive media relations strategy to enhance relationships with local, national and trade news media.
• Coordinate, script, produce and publish all internal and external communications including reactive media campaigns e.g. press releases, articles
