Control Room Operator (Shift Worker) - Fire Section MN 4010/25
Grade 12. First aid level 3 or Basic Ambulance Course. – Firefighting 1 & 2 Hazmat awareness and Operations. Background in Fire & Rescue services will be an added advantage. Valid Driver’s License. Computer Literate (MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Must not have any speech or hearing impairments. Must be able to retrieve information from people in distress or panic state in shortest possible time.
Keeping mentally and physically calm. Must be able to multitask. Must be able to relay information to officers and crew using radios. Good communication skills in English, read write and speak.
Experience in a call centre environment or Fire Services will be an added advantage. Two (02) to (03) Three years relevant experience in control room or switchboard operation. Applicants to note that this position works on rotational shifts.
DUTIES
Receive and dispatch incoming emergency calls. To ensure effective service delivery for public, when in need. General Administrative duties: By logging all calls received. Logging all records.
Filing this logged information by using a confidential filing system. Perform and allinclusive switchboard function for Public Safety. To ensure the smooth operation of the section.
Cleaning of control facility. Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
