Job Purpose

• To maintain, manage and coordinate the management accounting and costing activities and provide support to the Plant management team.

Key responsibilities : 

• Managing product costing process for the plant.
• Standard cost calculation (including bill of materials and routings).
•  Ensure BOM’s and Routings are accurate through continuous investigation and monitoring of variance accounts.
• Ensure business controls, processes and reconciliations necessary are adhered to in order maintain data integrity and consistency at Plant levels.
• Revaluation of finished goods inventory to actual monthly – R32 calculation.
• Review inventory scrapping and adjustments to ensure that the procedures
• Support WCM cost reduction pillar and track plant cost savings in order to ensure targets are met.
• Attend Plant production meeting, S & OP and purchasing meetings in order to support the plant activities.
• Provide input into Long Range Plan, Budgets & Forecasts
• Involvement with capex motivation, planning and execution in order to comply with policy & procedure.
• Monitor expenditure against approved budget, forecasts & estimates – cost centre variances for cost control.
• Support the physical asset verification process in order to comply with ICRF.
• Participate in inventory counts to comply with policy and procedure.
• Perform analysis of production orders for the plant.
• Monitor and help resolve COGI errors.
• Support month end and year-end closure.
• Perform overhead recovery analysis on a monthly basis for decision making.
• Provide costing reports to Plant Managers with recommendations on a monthly basis.
• Provide input into preparation of Cost of Factors file monthly.
• Ensure that K2 reporting (i.e. production costs) is completed on a monthly basis.
•  Support the purchasing process – addressing Parked Invoices, Supplier returns, receipts, ensuring correct allocation of costs.
• Any other adhoc projects.

Qualifications required:

• Matric
• National Diploma in Cost and Management Accounting or equivalent
• Part qualified CIMA

  Knowledge and Skills . 

• At least 3 years costing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrates a keen interest in understanding production process in order to provide cost management support
•  SAP knowledge a pre requisite
• Advanced computer Literacy (MS Office)
• Strong analytical skills
• Problem solving skills
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills;
• Self-drive and results oriented
• Ability to work in a team
