    Delivery Manager - Cape Town

    Job Summary:

    The Delivery Manager at Construct is a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for leading and managing projects within the organization. The Delivery Manager assumes accountability for the successful delivery of profitable projects, ensuring client satisfaction, fostering strong relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders, and demonstrating advanced business acumen. The Delivery Manager is a problem solver, a team lead and role model for project managers, and an effective communicator with a high level of emotional intelligence suited to a fast-paced, fluid organization.

    Delivery Management

    • Lead and manage the successful delivery of portfolio projects, assuming overall accountability for project outcomes, timelines, budgets, and quality. Collaboration with the lead layer across departments is crucial to success. 
    • Demonstrate advanced commercial reasoning, understanding how changes in timeline, budget, and quality impact revenue forecasted and recognized.
    • Work closely with Account Directors and other Heads to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. After project initiation, transition responsibility of the project to the Project Manager.
    • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met, and their expectations are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Foster strong relationships across the organization to ensure inter-departmental collaboration flourishes in the pursuit of project and organization goals. 
    • Ensure each project has up-to-date project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
    • Monitor project progress, providing guidance and support to Project Managers in project execution, risk management, and issue resolution.
    • Ensure effective communication and reporting to stakeholders, keeping them informed of project status, milestones, and potential challenges.
    • Communicate effectively in two contexts: commercially to leadership/executives and project excellence-focused language to project teams.
    • Act as a point of escalation for client and internal issues and ensure effective communication with stakeholders. Role specific escalations to go through their respective line manager. 
    • Implement and adhere to project management methodologies, processes, and best practices to drive consistency and improve project delivery efficiency.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhanced efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
    • Monitor project health, resourcing, and planning.
    • Provide regular reports and updates on portfolio status to the management team.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and drive new opportunities.

    People Management and Skills:

    • Proven track record of successfully overseeing portfolios of projects on time, within budget, and meeting client expectations within the edtech space.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performing environment.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to Project Managers, supporting their professional development and growth.
    • Line manage up to five direct reports, helping them succeed and grow in their roles.
    • Experience of managing and mentoring reports.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional, multi-location project teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
    • Sound understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and processes, with the ability to adapt to various project environments.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset to drive project success.

    Requirements

    • Relevant qualifications. 
    • 10+ years work experience. 
    • Proficient in project management software and tools.
