Requirements
BTech or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Professional registration will serve as an advantage
At least eight (8) years’ appropriate experience, involving sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and procedures, at managerial level
Mechanical or electrical knowledge

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and think independently; provide strategic direction; and effectively and efficiently organise, analyse, set goals, administer, guide, integrate and implement systems, plans, standards and procedures
• Proficiency and competency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and SharePoint
• A valid driver’s licence with own reliable transport.

Key Performance Areas

• Coordinate the implementation of the capital and operating budget of the pump stations section by effecting good financial controls and expenditure in terms of the Municipal Finance Act
• Manage the human resources in the pump station section in order to enhance staff performance, develop skills and ensure optimum service delivery
• Manage an operational quality management system by maintaining a quality service
• Manage reticulation water and wastewater pump stations and conveyance operations by ensuring the maintenance and operations are carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
• Manage the performance of all operational functions by measuring and improving performance
• Manage the implementation of standard operating procedures by standardising operating systems and processes for equitable service delivery
• Manage effective communications by enhancing awareness, share knowledge, expose conditions and promote service delivery
• Manage response to technical enquiries by processing technical enquiries efficiently.
