Developer (Outsystems) at Hollard Insurance

Job Purpose

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality OutSystems applications by leading the full development lifecycle, delivering scalable and secure solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement of platforms, people capability and delivery outcomes within an agile environment.

Key Performance Area’s

Solution Design and Development (technical)

• Design end-to-end OutSystems solutions aligned to architectural standards
• Develop, enhance and maintain web applications using reusable components
• Build and consume REST APIs and integrate with internal and external systems

Platform Optimisation and Quality (technical)

• Optimise applications for performance, scalability and reliability
• Conduct design and code reviews to ensure quality and maintainability
• Ensure adherence to secure coding and platform best practices

Delivery and Agile Execution (technical)

• Deliver work items within an agile delivery framework (Scrum/Kanban)
• Prioritise multiple tasks to meet development deadlines and milestones
• Self-manage assigned work and take accountability for delivery outcomes

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement (behavioural)

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, testers and architects
• Engage cross-functional teams including infrastructure and cybersecurity
• Contribute to the successful delivery of strategic projects and enhancements

Required Knowledge and Experience    
Experience

Minimum experience

• 4+ years hands-on experience developing on the OutSystems platform

Desirable experience

• Financial services or insurance industry experience
• Experience working within enterprise-scale agile environments

Technical Competencies

• OutSystems (O11/ODC) development and architecture
• API integration and service-oriented design
• SQL, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices

• Mentor and upskill other developers within the team
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Educational Requirements    
Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• OutSystems Associate Developer (O11) certification

Desirable qualifications

• OutSystems Professional or Expert certification
• Azure certification
