Will advise HR colleagues and line managers on complex, advanced and high-risk disciplinary cases about the appropriateness and fair application of relevant procedures and interventions.
Involvement in cases dealing with misconduct, operational requirements, and incapacity, encompassing inter alia suspension, disciplinary charge formulation, procedural, substantial and administrative requirements.
Identifying ER trends to propose and implement to limit risks to RIM and disciplinary action.
Facilitation of the processes and procedures in Employee Relations cases such as representing RIM in external dispute resolution with Unions and CCMA.
Delivery of specialist ER training to all unit managers, supervisors, and HR colleagues.
Minimum requirements:
Postgraduate degree (NQF 8) in Industrial Relations/ Labour Law/ Human Resources/ Social Sciences/ Industrial Psychology
LLB degree will be an added advantage
Work Experience:
Minimum 5 years in an Industrial/ Employee Relations specialist role; in a unionised environment.
Proven track record of CCMA representation and external dispute resolution forums.
Knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and various Collective Agreements.
Proven ability to work in a highly confidential environment, perform under pressure, meet deadlines and be capable of accurate and detailed work.
Computer literacy in terms of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and internet is essential.
