Job Description

• Standard Bank uses both in-house and vendor solutions in the Corporate and Investment division. The purpose of the job is to perform the role of a Murex Production BSD Engineer for the Murex Production BSD team. Murex being a vendor system and one of the Bank’s strategic trading and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) platforms, with the Murex Production BSD team enabling and supporting Front to Back global Markets capacities and solutions across multiple instances and asset classes
• The role entails technical delivery, support, and advisory to business stakeholder demand and Murex programme initiatives, with expected expertise across asset classes and end-to-end solution phases (scope, analyse, plan, design, dev, test, operate).
• In addition to the hands-on delivery responsibilities, the role requires developing standards, best practice, and ensuring optimal technical performance of the Murex Production Platforms, as well as upskilling and coaching the team to improve overall expertise.
• As this is primarily a generalist role within MCE, a deep understanding of the service assurance management practice and processes (business, audit, delivery, etc.) is required and/or expected to be built-up and demonstrated over time, all the while T-and-Key shaped individuals who have additional Business domain and Murex expertise across the value GM value chain (FO-BO).

Experience Required

• 2-5 years experience in driving the development and oversee adherence to Murex Production technical standards and engineering best practices to ensure a healthy platform and quality technical solutions are delivered. This may entail collaborating with team members, industry, subject matter experts, research houses, etc. to continually update and improve the standards by incorporating emerging technologies and industry trends.
• 2-5 years experience in engaging with business and other/supporting stakeholders to translate requirements into well-defined initiatives/features. This may entail business analysis-type activities of discovery, scoping, design, and test plans etc. following agile, iterative, and other best practice delivery frameworks.
• 2-5 years experience in developing Murex Production BSD solutions that are robust and future-proofed to reduce waste and manage technology deficit. The development should be in line with established standards and best practice (i.e. Agile, CI, TDD etc.), ensuring risks and blockers are adequately managed to not impact overall delivery.
