Finance Operations Manager at Fugro

Basic Function

• Responsible for accounting & reporting of actuals of all entities in the FSSC scope. Key responsibilities include the smooth transition of entities to the FSSC, ensuring timely preparation of financial reports and supervising a team of accounting personnel, as well as the implementation of company management systems within the department. Furthermore, responsible for maintaining internal control in accordance with group requirements and measuring the performance of the FSSC and contact with key stakeholders regarding the services provided.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Financial

• Leads FSSC and ensures application of Fugro FSSC process model
• End responsible for accounting & reporting of actuals of entities in FSSC scope (final approval by entity)
• Management of FSSC staff, incl. planning and development
• Account management of entities serviced by FSSC
• First point of contact in escalation of FSSC related issues
• Executes and reviews compliancy of transactional finance controls in accordance with Fugro Internal Control System (ICS) and external(statutory) and internal policies/procedures
• Ensures accounting changes fit with Group consolidation process
• End responsible for financial AP and AR master data
• Drives process improvements and aligns with Global Head of FSSC

Personnel

• Evaluate and conduct performance appraisals of supervised staff
• Training provision for department

Administration

• Ensure a financial filing system is maintained and up-to-date at all times

• Reports to the Finance Operations Manager Europe & Africa

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
• 5 -10+ years of relevant working experience (incl. Group accounting)
• Preferably member of a professional body (Chartered/Certified Accountant)
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP (if applicable)
• People management experience
• Excellent English language skills
• Excellent communication and people development skills
