Job Specification

• Leading a production team and overseeing the smooth operation of machines and equipment.
• Able to read, understand and interpret the drawing.
• Maintain safe healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, comply with legal regulations.
• Vast knowledge in assembling, Underground, longwall and Surface unit. 
• Provide direction and leadership to the departmental team to achieve high quality standard and have zero harm mentality to meet customers need.
• Management of all aspect of the related department and its team
• Ensure compliance to production schedules, quality processes, efficiency standards and Inventory management.
• Supervising activities and remain accountable for departmental cost center budget.
• Drive continuous improvement initiative within the business unit to ensure lean principles for the department.
• Reducing unplanned downtime.
• Minimizing losses and write-offs. 
• Limiting rework or non-conformance. 
• Ensuring of On Time Delivery to the customer.
• Setting, monitoring, and stimulating performance targets / KPI’s.
• Manage & Control production plan with the department gearcase.
• Tracking of disassembly, repair and assembly hours utilized to prevent the overrun and overbooking of hours.
• Update all relevant departmental production plan/tracking sheet, ensuring accuracy and are always up to date.

Minimum Skills Required

• Matric/ Grade 12,
• Qualified Fitter/ Millwright
• Must have at least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Diploma/degree in operations/engineering will be advantageous.
• Must have own reliable transport.
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams).
• SAP Experience, essential.
