General Worker at Phakisa Group

Job Purpose:

• The General Worker is responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operations of the warehouse by performing a variety of manual and operational tasks including receiving, handling storing , picking, packing , loading and housekeeping. The role ensures that goods are handled safely, accurately and in accordance with company procedure and health and safety standards

Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming stock.
• Sort, label, and store goods in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
• Load and offload vehicles safely.
• Assist with stock replenishment and inventory movement.
• Perform stock counts and assist with stocktakes.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping in the warehouse.
• Report damaged stock, shortages, or safety hazards.
• Assist with wrapping, palletising, and preparing goods for dispatch.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment.
• Follow company policies and health regulations.
• Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment.
• Support other warehouse functions as needed.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Clean criminal record.
• Good communication skills.
• 2-3 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
