General Worker X2: Purification MN 4151/26 at Midvaal Local Municipality

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 10.  Grade 12 (added advantage).  Valid Driver’s License (added advantage).  Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (must be bilingual).  
• Ability to follow & execute given instructions.  Good physical health, basic skills & knowhow of doing physical work.  A hardworking self-disciplined person.  
• 01year relevant experience in general work related to sewer pump stations, wastewater treatment works, and sewer sections within local government authorities.

DUTIES

• Responsible for loading and offloading of materials and equipment of the section with protected hands and safety tools.  Clean in and around the working area of responsibility with broom and various manual labour equipment tools to ensure clean environment.
• Perform housekeeping around Wastewater Treatment Works and Pump Station. Assist in cleaning and unblocking of manholes, pipe and pumps. Cleaning of sludge drying beds.
• Cleaning of grit channels and screenings. Cleaning of clarifier scum.  Do any labour related work when requested by either the supervisor or the superintendent of the section.  
• Execution of all legal instructions from the supervisor to ensure productivity and smooth running of the section.  Perform any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested or required by management (supervisor) from time to time.
