Graduate Internship: Institutional Advancement (6 Months) at Sol Plaatje University

Job Description    

• This Graduate Internship programme aims to create temporary opportunities for unemployed South African Graduates (18 to 35) who have completed their studies.

• One-page motivational/cover letter – why you should be considered for this internship.
• Updated CV, including a certified copy of your Highest Relevant Qualification.
• Certified transcript or record on an official letterhead
• Certified copy of South African identity card
• Contact details of two academic referees. 

Note: no full-time students will be considered for this programme

Position Specification    

• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms. Knowledge and understanding of websites.

Interpersonal Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Passion for learning and genuine interest in gaining practical experience in the field.

Experience:

• Minimal experience in administration, media writing and/or events coordination

Minimum Requirements    

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing,
• Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or in a similar field obtained from any South African university.
• South African citizen, between the ages of 18 to 35
• Applicants must be unemployed and never participated in an internship.
• Applicants are restricted to applying for only three (3) positions.

Recommendations    

• Unemployed South African Graduates who are not undertaking any full-time studies

Duties & Responsibilities    

• This programme will offer opportunities for unemployed graduates to gain useful university-based experience in a range of administrative areas that can improve their readiness for employment and open career pathways, that may not have been available without work experience.
