Job Description

• A leading Fashion Retail company is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer / Art Director with strong experience in concept development and fashion photoshoots, preferably in retail fashion environments, to join their Marketing department in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute creative professional to drive growth across multiple brands by developing engaging visual concepts, conducting art direction on set, and producing high-quality print and digital design. Responsibilities:

• Create and develop visual concepts, mood boards, and overall artistic direction for campaigns and projects across various brands.
• Provide on-set art direction for fashion photoshoots, including close collaboration with stylists to coordinate models, locations, and props.
• Apply art direction expertise to both photography and videography for consistent brand visuals.
• Design and produce visual assets using strong knowledge of both print and digital design principles.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest fashion industry trends to ensure creative output is relevant and forward-thinking.
• Contribute to video content creation and utilize tools like Adobe After Effects.
• Explore and apply AI concepts and tools (like Adobe Firefly/Express) to design workflows.
• Manage design projects using proficiency in the required software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) on an Apple Mac OS environment.

Requirements:

• Relevant Diploma or Degree in Graphic Design/Visual Communication.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Graphic Designer with art direction experience.
• Retail fashion experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of art direction on set, including photography and videography.
• Must be up to date with the latest fashion industry trends.
• Solid understanding of print and digital design principles.
• Proficient in Apple Mac OS and Adobe Creative Suite, including: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat.
• Advantageous skills include experience with Adobe Firefly, Adobe Express, Adobe After Effects, Canva, understanding of AI concepts, and video content creation.
